Sideshowdeb
I've arranged to bring forward my start date to next Wednesday, which means I have 8 days left. We've found a house and a car so I'd like this time to be like a little holiday. The question is, what to do? We've been to Mandurah and Fremantle and taken a boat trip around penguin island but what would be good to do now before it gets too hot? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Debs

SaffanZimbo
We went down to Margaret River, Busselton, Dunsborough, Albany, during our reccie last year and we especially enjoyed the Tree Top Walk (but its quite a drive from Perth) and the Maze at Yallingup (the kids loved it!) and Busselton Pier. Once we arrive later this year and for our next Oz holiday we aim to go up north to Monkey Mia as we couldn't fit this in during our reccie. cocolevi
It's amazing how quickly everyone gets things done. Be lovely to take time out to chill now xx
verystormy
The wild flowers will be about to bloom,so a trip to Harvey would be a good one. Head for the tourist information there. Kings Park is great this time of year and spring. I second a trip to Margaret River. Maybe go for a couple of nights.
Rossmoyne
Take a drive up into the Hills, Mundaring, Kalamunda, Roleystone, Serpentine...... beautiful at this time of year and plenty of bush walks and free Barbeques about. Fred Jacoby Park in Mundaring is a family fave. Dwellingup is an interesting little place too with National Park and bush walks. Araluen in Roleystone is amazing at this time of year with all the bulbs out... free barbeques here too. Margaret River for a few days... heaps to see and do and some really different accommodation available. Silversprings Cottages and Bettenays winery come to mind and can recommend both. Whatever you decide to do, enjoy it... good luck with the job!
FOL
Pinnacles, Lesmurdie (waterfalls), Chocolat factory + Providore, Caversham wildlife park. And never been there myself, but there's also an aqua park just south of the river. edit: Oops, just saw the date, your 8 days have passed since...hehe
annjean
I agree Rottnest before it gets too hot and too many flies, whale watching as well.
