First off, a warm welcome to everyone who's joined the forum over the last couple of months. It's great to see the forum busy and I hope everyone's enjoying being a member.

We now have nearly 800 'active' members, compared to around 200 this time last year.

The strength of any forum is in it's membership and the knowledge and experience that thecollective membership possess. With this in mind, I'd like encourage all members to contribute as much as possible on the forum.

One of the ways you can do this is through browsing the 'Unanswered Threads' to see which members threads haven't had any replies and see if you can help with any questions. To view threads without a reply, from any of the forum pages, click the 'Unanswered Threads option in the blue menubar.

Another way you can help us is by spreading the word! If you have a facebook or googleaccount, we've be extremely appreciative if you could click on the facebook 'like' button orthe Google '+1' button at the top of the homepage and help publicise the forum.

On another note, if any of the new members have any questions about how to post, send PM's or any other aspect of using the forum, don't hesitate to get in touch via the 'Contact us'option at the bottom of any of the forum pages.

Thanks

Rob

thats how I started on this website...

and the reason I stayed, well some of you I have met in the flesh so to speak, I enjoy the banter you get on here.

I was reading the new West Australian supplement, Australia`s South West, published earlier this year and sent out through our state paperI was wondering whether anyone would be interested in me, sharing some of that paper`s extraordinary tales. an expensive WA tourist Bureau`s advertising campaign from 2 years ago...Mind you from what I can gather on here, you all seem to know lots about our state.

some feed back would be welcome.

I didnt know half of what`s in the brochure about our state having only lived in Narrogin, Ravensthorpe, Bencubbin, Northam, and various suburbs of Perth in all the years I have been here in WA (my whole life ) but am willing to share.. it all

Just a quick update, it's great to see that in the last 2 weeks, the number of active members has gone up by another 100, so we nearly have 900 active members now. Last Friday also saw the forum record the most number of members signing on in a day. Thanks again to everyone who participates on the forum and is contributing to it's success.:notworthy:

A year has past since I made the post above, so just thought I've give this a bump along with an update, we've now around 1000 active members and in January, the forum received it's most number of 'visits' ever - 53,641. The graph below gives you an idea of how the forum has grown over time.

Thanks to everyone who participates on the forum ans has helped the forum grow.

As per my original post, if anyone can help out by looking at the unanswered threads from time to time or by giving us a 'like' or a +1' we'd be extremely grateful.

Also, a quick message to the 1,081 members who've signed up over the last 12 months but are yet to make a post (you know who you are!), don't be shy!, stop by and say hello in the 'Welcome' area of the forum, we've a great, welcoming community here, so join in:wubclub:

All the best

Hi Rob

I'm a UK academic with strong family connections to Perth, which I know well. I'm very anxious to get UK emigrants to Perth involved in an oral history project I'm running with partners in Perth. Would it be OK to use the Perth Poms forums to try and make contact with people?

Many thanks

Andrew Green
