  1. FANTASTIC first car, or economical run around for the city. - 169,189 kilometres. - VERY economical for petrol - I will miss how infrequently I visit the petrol station! - Manual, 5 gears. Front wheel drive. - 4 cyl, 1.8L engine. - 2 door, coupe model. - The car has a sports exhaust that purrs when you accelerate and a spoiler, with tinted windows. - This car also has a great audio system, with CD player. - Freezing cold air con for summer, but toasty heater for those cold winter mornings. - Registered until 27th June. Drives really smoothly, I'll be sad to see it go! Looking for $4,000, negotiable. If you're interested to go on a test drive or to find out more PM me

    Movecube

Just to let you all know, my move cube arrived earlier than originally forecasted, (although a little later than had also been said). Absolutely everything was fine in it- not a single breakage! We had plenty of time to empty it. Customs only opened one or two boxes and bags. I would highly recommend move cube as a cheap (Er) way of moving your belongings.
  3. Hi, I think you can apply for the non practising registration before you arrive, but you need to send them everything, including transcripts of results for every year of your degree and PGCE, passport, etc, so to send them recorded from the UK might be a little pricey. I went to the TRBWA on the Monday after I landed. Had about an hours wait while everything was copied and verified, then received my registration the following Monday or Tuesday. hope that helps!
  4. Hi, I used Moneycorp. They charge £5 per transaction, so it's worth it if you're moving a lot. I have only used them for a one-off, not sure if they have offers for regular transfers?
  5. Hi, me and my boyfriend arrived in Perth two weeks ago. After staying with family, today we found out that we secured our first choice flat after looking around lots of properties. We will be paying $345 per week for a 2 bed in Jolimont, which is next to Subiaco. It is unfurnished. We have seen lots of nice furnished flats in and around the CBD for about $350 per week. it depends on how much room you want, you can easily get a 1 bed but we found some of them very small! Hope that helps.

    Movecube

My advice would be to pack stuff inside cabinets etc, to save space. I put a chest of drawers in whole with bedding and pillows in the drawers. I took the handles off and faced the chest of drawers against my mattress, then the back of the chest of drawers was against boxes. You want to pack in as much as possible in case it all moves about in the cube while its in transit. You need to list all the items in the move cube on their paper work, so I numbered all the items and said what was in each. hope that helps!
  7. Hi, I have been here for 2 weeks, I'm 29 and on the job hunt so have lots of free time at the moment! Would love to meet up with new people, I've been staying with family up in the hills so I haven't met anyone yet. I've got a car and should be moving down to the city in the next week or so. Laura.

    Movecube

I had a large move cube and it fits loads in! The beds can be put in with the mattresses on their side, and the dismantled beds too. Depending on how wide the bed frame parts are, you will be able to fit the tumble dryer and washing machines in alongside. It depends how big the sideboard is as to where you would put it, but then you've also got the room above the tumble dryer and washing machine to put stuff in. I fit loads in my move cube and still had room. In hindsight I should have put more stuff in as I had excess baggage on my flight over!
  9. I used Lauren at sort out my visa and would definitely recommend!
  10. I used Lauren at Sort Out My Visa - only £900 as I sorted some aspects out myself, she was great and really friendly. Always got back to me and my messages. Highly recommended!
  11. Hi, I am moving to Perth this week. From what I can remember, my visa was about £2600, I paid a migration agent £900, police checks were about £200, IELTS was £180, Health check was £300. I have used a MoveCube to get my stuff to Australia, which is about £900. I don't know if the fees vary according to the visa you are applying for. I also did a skills check, but I did that about 2 years ago, so can't remember how much that was. Hope that helps.
  12. I'm moving to Perth on Wednesday, and everyone thinks I should be excited but I'm quite nervous! I need to get over all the goodbyes and then I might get more excited!
