  2. Hi we have been here a month and have a very active 6 year old, it would be great to meet up we live in Mullaloo. please send a pm and we can arrange something. Good luck! QUOTE=UkJules;81393]:ssign16:Hey Perth Poms. We are a family of 4 trying to find some pommy families to hang out with. We arrived in Perth in Jan 2013 and rented a house in City Beach. We haven't met any pommy families that have recently moved like us. Like most we came here for the chance of a better life, great weather and improved lifestyle. As much as we like Australia and are still happy we made the move we are missing friends and family like mad and need to meet some new friends to complete the dream I suppose. I had the image in my head that we would be having lots of bbq's, socialising ad having a good laugh but unfortunately we haven't yet come close to that. I appreciate these things can take time but with nearly a year under our belt we should be getting there. We have been checking out other areas and I've been chatting to people out and about and now feel that we could be in the wrong area for what we want? We have now decided to give Hillary's a go and we are now looking for a house to rent there. I am told that it is more of an expat community with more british children in the schools? It would be great to meet or chat with some families that are currently in this area and even maybe gone through a similar situation as ours. I am tempted to move my kids schools again but it does worry me as it took a long time for them to settle where they are now. Our daughter is 11 currently in year 5 and has one more academic year left in Primary and my son is 8 currently in year 2. They have made a few friends but nothing like what they had in the UK and I expected the kids to make loads of new friends. Most of them do not share the same interests as mine and they are all well established with so many clubs that they are never free for a play date. It doesn't help that both myself and my husband work full time at the moment but that's the way it had to be to get here. I miss the support from my family and friends and don't feel that I am around enough for my kids. We are in the process of switching the visa over to my husband to enable me to find a part time job eventually but in the meantime it is tough times, although the income is a bonus:) It would be great for us and the kids to make some new friends and would love to hear from you. Hope I haven't waffled and bored you too much and thanks to anyone who has taken the time to read it !!!

  5. Hi everyone, Recently arrived 3 days ago, living in Jindalee at present for a while until more permanent accommodation is found. We have a 6 year old son, I'm 45 ( young at heart, wife is younger, might get told off if I mention age) would like to meet others, especially for our son to play with. Any soccer teams for 6 year olds anywhere or Rugby? If you fancy meeting up get in touch, thanks.
  6. Hi MaiTwo, it's also who you now, it's a lot easier to get a job once you are here.
