  1. helloooo! I can't find anyone on FB either, send me a message if anyone is still looking to meet up etc just moved to wa from the uk so looking to meet people!
  2. thanks for the replies, VS that might be helpful! bank, Medicare and tfn achieved on day one so feeling positive! oh and the sun helps
  3. great news, we had our visa granted ten days ago, flew out on Saturday and are now sat in our holiday home in port bouvard wondering what the hell we are doing! hahaha booked in at the bank in am to collect cards etc, then off to start house hunting! can anyone give any tips on where to start? thinking of a six month ish rental until we get on our feet, we don't need to be near schools or anything as we have no children! any areas to avoid/go see? also if anyone is around and looking for friends give us a shout, we feel very overwhelmed at present!
  4. looking for some advice as we are struggling to get any sense out of our agent. im a nurse, so am the main applicant on our 489 regional sponsored visa. we also have our daughter who is dependant. we started the process in March 13 with ielts, skills assessment. we lodged received our invite to apply and lodged our application on 12 feb 14. we then had more evidence requested for dependancy, and medicals and police checks end of April 14. all back by 14 may. since then we have heard NOTHING. we we applied through an agent, and we have asked them for advice, whether we should chase it up to which they have said no we just need to keep waiting for news. as you can understand we are unbelievably frustrated. can they say no at this stage? we knew it was a waiting game but surely there is only so much patience someone can have? if anyone could offer any advice this would be appreciated. can we contact immigration ourselves? we have our ref no etc but our agent is not being helpful and adding to our frustration thanks
  5. I needed general for the visa but then you need academic for anmac! ended up doing both but at least it gave me practice:jiggy:
  6. not sure if this is right but is your daughter not 'getting in' on your visa because she is at uni and therefore a dependant? is that not why your agent asked you to say she was coming with you? just curious because that's how our daughter is applying on ours! did you have to provide evidence of her studies etc?
  7. our agents have said if we email them that's what happens (not sure how true it is but they've strongly advised against it)
  8. did you use an agent to apply or do it yourself? have you contacted immigration at all to see what's going on? they requested all our info (meds pcc) back by June 2nd, which we did, then you hear nothing for weeks! but can't email asking what's happening incase you get put to the back of the queue
  9. what visa are you going on? our road feels very long too! skills assessment took from May 13, EOI and visa lodgement both done by 14 feb, CO allocated and medicals requested April, police checks & med back by 10 May 14 and we are still waiting had our hearts set on this week! thought it was plain sailing once you had had medicals requested encouragement needed!
  10. roughly how much did it cost? do you have any contact details for them?
  11. can anyone give any advice on transferring nhs pensions? can this be done without paying a company to move this for us? we have spoken to a few and it sounds very expensive. has anyone any experience in this? any help would be great

hi, wasn't sure which heading to go under! can anyone tell me their experience of bringing/not bringing a dog over with them? i had my dogs blood tests etc all done, not long to go but am now having second thoughts on bringing her. is the journey going to be too stressful, quarantine etc, will she cope with the heat when we get there, will she chase snakes/ spiders etc. just having last minute doubts, if anyone could advise either way that would be great!
  14. yes I'm at uni studying animal biology. finished my second year and looking to possibly complete it once I get over, or do a new course on something animal related. also work as a dispenser in a pharmacy, so looking at the possibility of pharmacy technician training. so many options!
  15. hello! first time looking on the site, very exciting posts! today we had our EOI back and sent off our visa application. seems a very long time since we started the process - skills assessment took some time. I'm coming over with my parents (mums a nurse, main applicant and I'm 21 looking to go back to uni/college). is anyone else in/been in a similar position with regards to education? also, we are bringing over our dog. has anyone any tips/ company recommendations? any advice/general positivity welcome! thanks
