Hi, does anyone know if there is much work for floor layers in Perth? My husband has 25 years under his belt and fits carpet, amtico, karndean, vinyls etc but so far on job sites in WA nothing has shown up! I know it's not on the skilled list anymore but a friend of his (already in Perth) said he's snowed under so considering coming without a job lined up (is this a good idea)??? Any ideas on a floor layers salary????? We would arrive with around £15,000 -- $26,00 ish, how far would this get us with rental and car etc? Thanks x

Hi everyone, I am new to this so have soooo many questions!! My husband and I desperately want to make the move to Perth, we have a son nearly 13 & a daughter nearly 10 (we also have a 25 year old daughter and 5 year old grandson who will not be making the move with us)! my son has a big love of football so worried about getting into a team, making new friends etc and is causing us a little heartache about making that ultimate decision. We are really unsure about visas, no matter what site I try it always baffles me so hoping someone can help us out in simple terms! my husband is a floor layer with 25 years under his belt, unfortunately his profession is no longer on the skilled list so can't go down that route but wondered if there is a way of moving out there and then finding work? He has a friend in Perth, also a floor layer so could help with finding work. Area's.....good and bad areas of Perth, we have been looking at secret harbour, baldivis, port Kennedy but unlimited want an area with good schools as the kids future is very important to us....all advice welcome!
