  1. We've just bought a lovely property in Mindarie for $800,000 in a beautiful street, quiet and with well kept gardens to all houses. Ocean views and pool, so no need to buy package deals in Burns Beach or similar for over 1 million.
  2. Our experience over many years (36) is that ALL property managers, young, old, male or female are totally unreliable and end up failing in their duties ultimately costing the home owner greatly.
  3. Can anyone recommend a good medical centre in the Mindarie Keys area?
  4. Thanks Odies, I shall research that area from your information.
  5. Yes, it was a rather broad open question. We would like to be very near coast but not with Cottesloe to Hillarys prices. Good cycleways and footpaths, parks, medical facilities and above all low crime. Does that narrow it down a bit?
  6. One of the docs is an Indian woman who supa glued my forehead which I managed to split open with the car boot lid just before heading to the airport to fly off to Adelaide.
  7. Yes, OK, will inform you on here. We'll probably rent in Halls Head too whilst we wait for our house to be built.
  8. Is there anything on the horizon to indicate a new kid on the block, or will Coles & Woolies maintain their cozy little duopoly
  9. That's strange, we only have a co-op in our little town and have to drive 12 to 20 miles also to Tesco or Morrisons (no other supermarkets nearby)
  10. This link provides a great starting point for most information relating to virtually everything.....http://www.streetsofperth.com.au/
  11. it's been quite awhile since we lived in WA, but we found good value and exciting food and ingredients in Asian shops in Northbridge especially Luckys in Brisbane street:ssign19:
  12. Don't worry.....use this link for an accurate conversion....http://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/convert/?Amount=1&From=GBP&To=AUD
  13. G'Day wise poms, Can I get some ideas from you lovely peeps as to a great place to live in retirement, must be within 1 hours drive from Perth,:ssign2::ssign2:
  14. Hiya guys, a great place to buy asian foods and meat and vege is Luckys in Northbridge
  15. G'Day Eric & Flo, Frome not us must have been another post. We're in Dulverton (Exmoor) and hope to be sold up by August. Lived 34 years in Perth, mainly Marmion & Sorrento. Our daughter is just north of Wanneroo, so we'll stop at her place for a few weeks and then head on down to Mandurah. You'll never get used to the flies, but the heat you'll get to enjoy (it takes time). I look at Coles and Woolies websites and it amazes me how high prices have risen since we left 8 years ago. Even France was cheaper (we lived there for 4 years) and of course with the large range of supermarkets here in UK prices are by Aussie standards really cheap. When we eventually get back to Oz we'd like to take you up on your offer to meet up and any other older PerthPoms. 'Ave a good one :ssign19:
