Hi We fly out on Friday for a 5 week holiday. We have just got our 457 visas and plan to be back living in Perth Feb/March time. Here is our dilemma... Our 13 year old would be in year 9.. Ok that I understand BUT am a little confused for my 17 year old? He sat his GCSE's this year (didn't do great) He has just started college here doing a Btech in IT (web design/programming ect) Which he is enjoying and doing very well at. I am reading he will go into your year 12 but I am thinking this won't be ideal for him?!! Could he go into year 11 instead and do your 2 year HS courses? Also recommendations for good schools/colleges? Hubby will work from home for 6 months until we are settled and find our feet!!! We have family around the Hilary area. Will need to look at schools next week!!

Got Our 457 visa yesterday!!!!

We are out in Perth for a holiday beginning of December. We are hoping to move over end of February/ March if we get the visa. Fingers crossed xxx

Whoop Whoop that was quick... We did ours 2 weeks ago through an agent had a request last week to send FULL birth certificates for our children.. (we only had the small ones) Which we did On Thursday just waiting now... Fingers crossed we hear this week. Lots of different information out there!!

Hi we are coming over for 3 weeks to stay with family and wanted to bring a few gifts from the UK.... Things our family would miss from the UK!! Any ideas? What do you miss in OZ that we could bring?

SOoooo much to think about..... BUT if we could find a school that would allow him to do year 11 and 12 this could work for him.. He sat his GCSE's this year and didn't do as well as we hoped!!! I was aware of the $4000 charge... just wasn't sure if this was each child or per family? We do plan once we been there for a year to apply for PR.

Hope its ok to ask this on this thread... We have just been offered a 457 sponsorship from my Husbands company. We will have a year 9 daughter and a son who has just left year 11 and gone to college here.... Thinking this is Australia's year 12? If we come over in January and find a school/college for our son could he go back into year 11? Or would he have to just do year 12? Will this effect his University choices if he not done year 11 in Australia?
