  1. We've had a lot of fun teaching new dancers for our performance ball! We're back to drop in classes now so feel free to try a class for free with the flyer link above. It will keep you warm during 'winter' haha. Looking forward to seeing more Brits there on Thursdat in Mt Hawthorn. Mike
  2. Looking forward to seeing a few new (Pommie) faces tonight!
  3. Hi Guys I moved to Perth from Warrington back in 2011 and it initially took me about a year to settle in Perth. Settling in to new job was the easy bit, but like many people who have moved to Perth alone it was very difficult to build a social life from scratch. On a whim I started attending Swing Dance classes at Swing Zing in September 2012 and i've been addicted to Swing Dancing ever since! It's very sociable, you meet heaps of people and learn a lot of cool moves and tricks you can try out on the dance floor. Not only have I made a lot of friends from Swing Dancing (or Lindy Hop as it's also called) but I also met my partner there too and we're currently in the process of applying for a 820/801 Visa (Partner Visa) which means we can stay in this beautiful city and start a family. Anyway I now teach at Swing Zing on Thursday nights at the Mount Hawthorn Community Centre in Mount Hawthorn. Myself and my teaching partner Fiona teach Level 1 - which is beginners - at 7pm each week. Classes last for 1 hour. There are a few brits that come to class and go out social dancing but i'd love to see a few more poms down there sharing this beautiful and amazing dance. If you open the link below with the flyer you can try your first class for free! Make sure to come and say hi to me after class! http://www.swingzing.com/flyer/ If you want to see a video of the dance check out William and Maeva (A french international teaching couple) social dancing.
  4. I'll be doing the 12ker - need to start hitting the tarmac - a week long overindulgence in Vietnam probably hasn't helped the training routine!
  5. I also work in the media, and have worked in several radio Newsrooms. We are informing everyone about what is going on in the world, or in WA, as it's impossible for everyone to be in one place at a time. It's important to make sure we are as unbiased as possible, and, on the whole, there is less campaign based News in the West Australian, compared to the British Tabloids and a lot of commercial radio stations in the UK - there's more focus on reporting the news in a raw format. I don't work for the west by the way, but work for a Radio Station in Perth, and freelance for 2 Australian News and Sport Networks. Blaming the media's an easy excuse.... We don't make the news, you do!
  6. That was a good night out! Will have to sort another one out soon. Feel free to PM me and find me on facebook etc
  7. Right, we are meeting at the Queens Pub in Mount Lawley this Saturday from 8pm - if any one has any problems drop me a PM and i'll give you my number. Mike
  8. No probs guys.... will keep you informed. There's a few of us heading down to the V8 Supercars at the beginning of May at Barbagallo Park, but that's probably not everyones cup of tea. What's everyone up to for ANZAC day?
  9. Any one up for this? I know Matt's pretty keen on it.... info on the link below. http://perth.v8supercars.com.au/ Tickets are $80-$120 for a grandstand seat on raceday - cheaper just for general admission. I would get a weekend pass but i'm working on Saturday morning, so there's not much point really! Any motorsports fans who want to come along as well??
  10. 12 Midday? Good effort. There's a few of us heading to the Garden in Leederville at 8pm tomorrow, if you end up heading that way.

The Australian GP is on TEN, every other race is on ONE HD (Ten's sports and documentary channel), which is free to air.

    F1

Here's an even cheaper solution.... FREE. One HD stream the F1 for Quali and raceday on their site... http://tensport.com.au/motorsport-live-streaming.htm
