Yes Rosie I am now in Perth at long last, I have been here since March this year and things have been very hectic so far getting a rental, job etc...... seem to be settled now all the mad rush is over and I have made 3 amazing friends from this thread I don't know what I would have done without their support over the months, we meet for coffee and have drinks at our houses and have a weekend trip to Margaret River planned in 2 weeks. Drop a line if you get this and I will pm you my mobile. Hope all is well with you. Ann xx

Hi Rosie, i live in Spital at the moment have heard of Irby as a girl i work with lives there, i have a hold up with my assurance of support at the moment but hope to be over there by xmas if not before, have changed my flight 3 times so far with delays. I hope to live Mandurah way, my daughter and husband are staying here so it's going to be a wrench but hoping they will be out to see me often. We will have to catch up for a drink when i get over and theres a few of us on this thread catching up for a meet up so you will have to join us. Keep in touch Rosie and hope to see you soon. :jiggy:Ann

It is a compicated process Ang a lot of parents don't use a migrant agent and do the paperwork themselves, i work full time and because i am doing this alone opted to use an agent for support. If you have any questions or queries i would phone an agent and ask what you need to know and get some answers, the advice will be free on the phone it's then up to you if you want to use them or do it alone. Theres a parent visa thread on '' pomsinoz '' it's just a thread dealing with parents doing this visa, it's really helpfull and folk on there are really nice and willing to help with any questions especially if you are not using an agent. Is your daughter a permanent resident Ange, as she has to have been a permanent resident for 2yrs before you can apply, theres also a balance of family, if there's anything you need to know i can try and help. Just private message me on here. Well at least the sun is shining this Saturday morning

Hi, i am renting my house here in the uk, i don't have a mortgage on the house so i am making a profit but the rent is below my personal allowance so i should not have to pay tax here in the uk, i have informed the tax office i am renting the house but not sure what you mean by applying to have the income paid gross.

Hi Ang, From lodging my papers with immigration it has taken 15mths to get a case officer, i got one last week. I had my medical done in may and had police checks done, just waiting on my son doing assurance of support with centrelink and then it's the big payment, once thats done and i have the visa ( all being well ) i shall be on the first plane over. My 2 dogs will follow after xmas. I am hoping for the end of next month so finers crossed. Shall miss the arrival of my baby grandson, he is due 3rd oct but hopefully will be seeing lots more of him when i am over there. Be great to meet up with everyone and swop stories. Ann

I'm not to sure were Padbury is Ang, but if it's north of the river or a fair distance you can always stay with me for the night if we are having a vino night. Wish i was making it for the 8th october. What visa are you coming on Ang? I am coming on the 143 parent visa, my son is in Harrisdale. Ann:smile:

Hi ladies, i have just got my case officer so hopefully things should move along quite quickly for me now, hope to be there for end of October all being well, waiting patiently for the arrival of my grandson anytime soon in perth, so looking forward to seeing him. Hi thewaltons and welcome, the more the merrier to our coffee/wine group. I shall be the eldest so no looking on me as granny grunt, LOL. Not long now Jak soon be there and hopefully i will be soon after, be so glad to be over all this stress with emigrating and all involved in getting the visa. Give me sunshine........ Yay for summer!! Ann

My plans are on a go slow with Centrelink at the moment so i think it's going to be October before i get out there now, i changed my flight to the 15th october on your Birthday but if i get the visa before that i will ask for a cancellation, i have rented my house out too and have a nice family living in it, i am squatting in a room at my daughters surrounded by boxes and belongings it's driving me nuts being cramped but needs must. I had the rabies jabs done on my 2 dogs last year but with the hold up with centrelink i had to have another rabies booster and blood test another 260 pounds i could have done without paying, my pet exporter thinks it's going to be December before they can fly out as by the time we get the export/import permits time will be getting on, so my daughter will look after them in the meantime. I suppose the bonus of that is it will give me time to get a rental and settled in a job before they arrive. I feel in Limbo at the moment got so far and can't go any further till my son sorts centrelink out. So frustrating when all you want to do is get going. Never mind we will all have to meet up when we can for a night out in Mandurah and discuss the trials and tribulations of emigrating. Keep in touch Ann

Hi Mary, i hope to be heading Mandurah way in september and will more than likely be looking for a short term let until i find a job and able to then get a long term rental, can i ask what company you found your short term rental with, i don't mind where it is initially as i intend to be more central to Mandurah in the long term. Thanks Ann:smile2:

I am moving from the Wirral, i live in Spital, hope to move out to perth september and looking to settle in Mandurah area, looking forward to the meet up for coffee or wine. How are you settling in. Ann

I opened an account with westpac last year, if you get documents certified by your bank manager at your branch here in the UK as in passport, drivers licence and 2 household bills showing home address, you can make withdrawals, you need to phone westpac in London and they will send you the forms to fill in and to be signed by your bank manager, then return to westpac in London. I have been transfering money to my account in perth and have been able to make tranfers from that account. I needed to be able to do this to make the payment for my visa in OZ.

No difference whatsoever unless your on the top deck....... first class....very plush. I found it no different to any other flight i have been on going to oz. I enjoy my flights and just chill and chat, watch telly and sleep with the help of drowsy anti-histamines and glass of wine. You will be grand it's so smooth.

Has to definately be a front loader for me, the top loaders mangle all the washing and wreck anything with cords or strings attatched all the clothes get knotted up and don't seem to wash well, front loaders use less water and wash much better in my opinion.

I am up for that girls........ fingers crossed it won't be long as i am itching to get there. Ann

Nice post and i hope your dream is all you hope for, i am in my 50s and going on a CPV143 ( PARENT VISA ) the cost of the visa is huge but it's the only way i can go. I shall be renting my house here in the uk and have just got a lovely family moving in on 1st June, the house market hasn't recovered enough to sell yet plus the exchange rate was dire but moving up slightly this past week to the best it's been in ages, Like you i have nothing to lose here but more to gain over there, my job is unstable and the salary dire, i work in care and hope to continue in this field in perth, i am not shy of hard work and realise i will have to work just as hard over there as i do here but my time off will be in the sunshine on the beach, walking my 2 pooches or bike riding on the most gorgeous coastal paths ever. I have had loads of holidays in perth so know which area is best for me, i plan on settling Mandurah, secret harbour or Baldivis way. Also my first granchild is due in October so i hope my visa is granted before then so i can be there for the arrival. I wish you well on you journey and hope you love it there. What part are you hoping to move to, Ann

I am looking at those areas too, i like south of the river. I have just got tenants for my house as the houses are moving so slow with silly offers still, hope you get your price and you manage to sell. I hope to move around that time also and the way the weather is today the sooner the better, it's freezing here.

I am applying for a 143 parent visa and hope to hear on getting a CO July time, imagine my shock when a lump was discovered in my right breast in Jan, i had allsorts going through my mind especially going through the visa process, i can honestly say i was traumatised by the whole ordeal of mammogram, ultra sound scans, biopsy, then surgery to remove it, i felt intense releif to hear it was benign and discharged from the consultant with no further follow up appointments necessary, i then went through a period of feeling guilty for feeling so happy and releived i was ok because i knew some ladies i seen in the waiting room of the clinic and then the hospital did not get good news, none of the ladies ever spoke in the waiting rooms as they too were terrified of what they would find out or were going to go through if the news wasn't good. My consultant has written me a letter to take to my medical explaining the biopsy was benign so i hope all goes smoothly from here on. I understand the extreme trauma you and you wife went through and the jubilation and intense releif on hearing the good news her tumour was benign. I am 55yrs this year and although i have a son in Perth i am making this move alone which is daunting to say the least, but having had this hiccup i realise our chances and good fortune in life have to be grasped , we are never to old to try something new, and you only Fail if you never Try. Good luck to you and your family for the futue and i wish you all you hope for from here on. Ann
