i know of a couple of people who have built in burns beach their houses are now worth what it cost them to build , so they are at evens at the moment , if your looking to build in oceanreef there isnt a lot of land so unless a house gets knocked down and the land split to a smaller block your proberly looking in the region of late $600,000 to $ 800,000 for the land , if its split into a smaller block and you can find one proberly in the region of $ 400,00 to $500,000, what you have to watch for also in beach side suburbs is limestone when they are digging the pad out if you hit that your site costs can go !@#$%^. they are doing some large discounts on land at alkimos to get them moving you can look at these reductions on the satterly web site

well the population has grown a lot since then and problems like shortage of rentals , busy roads heavy traffic in peak hour etc tend to happen because of the population growth , the govt are always behind the eight ball !!!!, the cost of living has gone through the roof as well but that seems to be the same the world over , dont beat your self up about marine tce , i knocked back a block ocean front in illuka in 2000 for $240,000 thought by the time i put a house on it i would nevr see my money back !@#$%^ i could do a lot more than kick my self !!

when i first moved to perth my parents had brought a place in upper swan [ you have no idea ofd the culture shock @#$%^] about two buses a day ran that way . i got married and brought a place in high wycombe opposite huge fields , [ that no longer exist as its all been built on ] it was a nice house and in our budget , years later went over seas to work and decided to upgrade the house , so we drove from freo to illuka and looked at what was in our budget and life style . i loved freo but was worried with two teenage daughters and the opportunity for them to get into mischeif . went to marmion and would be paying a fortune for some thing really out dated went on to oceanreef and found some nice houses that had what i was looking for , schools nice and close , easy access to the freeway , shops and hospitals handy , good oceanviews ,close to the beach [ which i only ever look at and never visit ] and a damn site cooler than the foothills

i have no idea what rents are in the uk i had a friend who lived in inverness and the rents she quoted me [ a few years ago] shocked me she told me 175 quid a week about 14 years ago was what she was paying , so i assumed rents were cheaper here , silly me !!lol my daughter has built a lovely 3x2 in butler and ive seen simular houses renting for 350/ 390 a week , which is a reasonable rent , although it wasnt that mant years ago you could rent a nice place for 180 , every thing has gone up , i suppose its the same the world over
-
i know a lot of people that live on less than $90k and live well its all relative to life style i suppose im not sure i under stand this 3to 1 ratio you will earn dollars and spend dollars does that mean i pay $ 1.99 for two litres of milk and you pay 68p for the same two litres ? i guess an average rent would be $400/ $ 450 a week for some thing reasonable ,how does that equate with a rent in parts of the uk ? i suppose im used to prices here its been to long since i lived in the uk
