hi scot my oh just got a room in a house in wilson im not too sure how far from cbd. but i do know the landlord had 3 houses and there was rooms available in a couple of them. he had to pay 4 weeks bond@ 180pw and 2 weeks up front. if you want to keep this post and you can pm me nearer the time if you like and ill put hi in touch with you good luck jen

hi jimmy, my oh got his 457 in a week . applied end may got it 4th june. you will prob have it within 3/4 weeks on a bad processing time scale. he arrived in perth this morning !!! he had no meds or police checks to be done, very easy and straight forward !! best of luck jen

ah piccolo how you getting on ? did you manage to sort your house in time before you left ? we went with rent allowance in the end and they moved in last week. hi came accross this thread, oh is flying out next sun, and me and 3 kids ages will be jess 16 dylan 7 and kian 6 we will follow in dec.. Although from internet based research we think we have decided to possibly buy in baldivis we think we may rent in secret harbour. I have been looking at comet bay primary for the boys and comet bay college for jess. Can someone tell me if they are within walking distance from each other ? Also the enroll date is tomorrow for 2013 has anyone done this from overseas ? there is a drop down box for overseas enrollment but its blank. Will they allow an enrollment from ireland even though we have not got an address yet ? Alao does the primary have afterschool care ? thanks so much for any help jen x

I think youd be mad sally imo. Ive seen lots of posts about scams ie. the house / room doesnt exsist once you get there. Could you not get a holiday rental for 1 month to give yourself a chance to find somewhere jen

hi jenny, im not sure of the details but you can google on a .au.com ....vodafone is said to be very expensive and not great coverage , Telstra is said to be the best for coverage , packages and tariffs, these are my findings anyway good luck jen

annie, hi, you wont need anything certified, you might not need police checks either and yes being from ireland we are covered under the recipricol agreement so no need for ins, just reg with medicare when we arrive (sent you back a pm ) jen x

hi annie, also from ireland my daughter jessica is doing her jc at the min. I was told she will be going into yr 11 in feb 13 as its equivelent to 5th yr. then the exams are in yr12..6th yr. we are going to follow in dec oh going over on 24th june. TBH i think yr 10 is the equiv of 4th year but im not 100%. jen

kitty kat i feel exacttly the same. we are moving out of the house in 2 days to rent it out. I havent got a thing done to be ready ! i keep finding myself drifting into thoughts and welling up.. the last time i do this , that, etc.. my oh is going in 2 weeks and me and kids will follow in dec. I was talking with a friend today and she was like how come u not buzzin around but i have to say i feel a genuine sadness. I will miss my oh obviously for the duration were apart and no doubt the kids will turn into spoiled brats living at my mams for the next 6 mths but im starting to think this is it now and feel like im grieving for people or something but im still here !! Also i even cried at deal or no deal today wtf is that all about !!!! and i got a tooth out today and burst into tears driving home feeling sorry for myself !!! jen

AH well at least you have few weeks sorted. Ive been on this laptop all day trying to get damien something for when he gets there. The hotels are mad money and so are the short term rentals. pio are saying be wary of gumtree, not that theryre answering me anyway !!! getting a bit stressed lol Hopefully you will get someone to rent house. have you considered rent allowance ? i have viewings coming on fri one girl asked me this and i said no but i didnt really know what it was. but then aa friend said youll be guarunteed your rent. not long for you now, i bet your feeling the nerves now !!!!!
