hi everyone how long have everyone waited for a CO to be assigned, and then once assigned how long before visa have been granted????? we have applied for a 189, our medical and police checks done and all our paper is ready, i do hate all this waiting. i feel like my life is on hold. rachel

hi it has only taken a few week following EOI to get invited, but the whole journey has taken about 5 year as i used an agent who took all my money and did nothing so it took time to get the money together to start again. just got to get through my medical that the next hurdle as i have a few medical problem. If all goes well i would like to in perth at the end of the year. congratulation on your news today MissNancy x

Hi yes I got invited on Monday and my visa company are sending all my paper work at some point, not sure when they will do it as I thought they would have sent it by now. not sure how long thing take now hopefully you will hear something soon. See if anyone else on here knows

hi you can go on a tourist visa and just turn up at the local office and show them your documentation. when i did it (2ish years ago) i had to have some documents some need to cert by a justice of the peace in perth and give an address in Australia as a base. i used my family address that i was staying in (a friend just used the hotel he was saying in) it took about 15 mins in total. AHPRA will give you all the information you need and what documentation you will need to take. rachel

Hi yes thats the the best way to do it but you may find if you need extra point for your visa you will still need to do the English test. definitely get your registration first as the modified skill assessment is cheaper.

Full assessment applications All internationally-qualified nurses and midwives without Australian or New Zealand registration (regardless of country of birth) have to provide English language test results. Modified assessment applicants If you are applying for a modified assessment you do not need to provide English language test results. This means you are registered with: AHPRA/NMBA Nursing Council of New Zealand Midwifery Council of New Zealand. hope this helps.

Hi i have just got my ANMAC within the last two weeks and I only have general IELTS so just check before booking your next one as the general is easier

hi It took me 6 attempts at the IELTS so i know how frustrating it can be but stick with it. I got my AHPRA (with out IELTs)which meant I only need to do the general test (for visas) which is easier and passed so I've had no problem with ANMAC, which was a great relief. it has taken me in total 6 year to get to where i am now, which is all documents ready and expression of interest in awaiting invite (finger cross it will be the next one on thursday). so keep going you will get there:smile:
