Hello We fly to Perth on the 16th September and our dog is having to go to Sydney. We have used Golden Arrow shippers who have been fantastic throughout. After his quarantine period we had to arrange an internal flight through to Perth. The original flight cost £2395 and the internal flight (through a company called dogtainers) worked out around £500. Quarantine was around £1000. Make sure that you get your dogs rabies jab done ASAP. It is valid for 2 years but you need to have it done at least 6 months before travel. All other jabs/blood tests are nearer the departure. Good luck!

We went through 2 rounds without being invited but got invited on the 3rd (189 visa). We lodged very close to the first invitation date. Keep fingers crossed

Ooo it is very exciting! Our medicals are on Wednesday next week I was surprised how easily I managed to get booked in. When I asked for the next available one she even had some for the next day!

Hello. We've just booked our medicals for our 189 visa today and they've attached some information. This is what ours says (Bridgewater - Manchester): Permanent Visas Adult: Medical, HIV and Chest x-ray (£270) Doctor or dentist: As above, plus Hep B and Hep C (£345) Child 11-14: Chest x-ray and medical (£190) Child under 11: £75 (no information given) Temporary visas Adult: Medical & Chest x-ray (£240) Doctor or Dentist: As above (£340) Child: Medical, Chest x-ray (£190) Child under 11 (£75) Prices inclusive of electronic submission or courier fees. Currently looking at houses for sale in Oz whilst also looking at pictures of dolphins and mentally trying to psych myself up for handing notice in on my job that I only started on September 1st. They have no idea this is coming and I'm not looking forward to it. Make it stoppppppp.

They requested a series of photographs of us together over the 7 years we have been together, as this is more evidence of our relationship. As well as photographs of just the two of us they said to send photographs of the two of us with family too. Not sure why. Our agent requested more official documents than anything such as mortgage paperwork and joint bank statements.

Hi We are applying for a 189 visa. Myself (a teacher) as the lead applicant and my partner will be on my visa too. For proof of our defacto relationship our agent requested photographs from all the years we had been together (including family members), a written and signed statement (although not witnessed) from each person about how we met and we had to send in scans of things like joint bank accounts, mortgages etc. I think the more evidence you have, the better.

I am a teacher and had to do the IELTS test for the visa points. I would advise to prepare for it as it is quite intense...3 hours in reading/writing/listening and then a separate speaking test about 15 minutes long.

Hello I'm a teacher also looking to make the move to the Mandurah area later this year. What do you teach? I'm a bit apprehensive about leaving my secure job here to start a fresh in Oz...but I think it will be worth it! Wonder if they're as crazy over data analysis etc over there...! Michelle
