Coomber Family replied to a topic in Visas and Migration
sorry for delay, have been away. We are not in Perth yet we fly on 23rd Oct, OH went out on a recci trip back in May and he quite simply drove around the different flooring showrooms and all said that work was good in that field and are happy for him to contact them when we get there for work. I'll let u know if its still the same in Oct. xxx -
1 day practical test for AQFIII for Floor Finishing
Coomber Family replied to a topic in Visas and Migration
Hi, I don't really know if this is helpful or not but we got granted our 176 visa earlier this month and my husband who is a floor finisher didn't need the AQF III to pass the skills assessment with TRA as they excepted his NVQ 2 in floor covering and his 19 years of experience, he also visited Perth in May on recci trip and met with quite a few flooring companies and they were happy to offer him work without it. The only reason I'm telling you is because I know it costs lots of money to do, so it might be worth double checking that it is completely nessecary before spending the money. Good luck with ur application. Xx -
176 granted today, so much faster then anticpated :-)
Coomber Family replied to Coomber Family's topic in Visas and Migration
Thank you everyone, still can't quite believe it :-). We went through on hubby's floor finishing skills, we only used an agent for the TRA skills assessment then did WA SS and 176 by ourselves so I think the whole process has cost in the region of about £4000. Good luck everyone. Xx -
So so so excited, we had confirmation that our 176 visa was granted today and we only sent our police certs last night, they must be working on Saturday's! Submitted visa app on 29th May, meds received 14th June, police cert uploaded 15th June, visa granted 16th June, hope that helps people wanting to know time frame at the moment. Just need to sell house now and then Perth here we come :-). Xxxxx

Applying online for a 176 visa
Coomber Family replied to Coomber Family's topic in Visas and Migration
Just a quick note to say that I've just checked our online document check list and our passport photo has now been changed to 'MET' which means that scanning in and cropping was obviously deemed sufficient. xx -
Applying online for a 176 visa
Coomber Family replied to Coomber Family's topic in Visas and Migration
Hiya, thought I'd update you on our progress in case it helps anyone in anyway. We booked our medicals straight after submitting our application online (29.5.12) without a CO being allocated as it was requested on our document check list and when the medical centre checked the e-health site we were already on there and said they will submit the results directly on to the site. A couple of days later we got an email from immigration with a document check list similar to the one online but with the extra form 80 and form 1221 so we have now filled those out and will be uploading as soon as I've scanned them (still no mention of the forms online tho). We also sent our police check forms off before being allocated a CO as again it was on the list. Quicker than we anticipated we got an email this morning (5.6.12) from our allocated Case Office requesting both medicals and police checks so I don't really think it matters too much either way. We used passport photo's from the machine, scanned them in and cropped them down to size but have not got confirmation that these are ok yet but thought considering they already had a certified copy of our passport information and picture page that it will be ok. No idea how much longer things will take but so far the time frame has been much faster then we were told it would be. If anyone could let us know how long there's took when they submitted online that would be really nice to know. Thank you Good luck everyone applying. xx -
Applying online for a 176 visa
Coomber Family replied to Coomber Family's topic in Visas and Migration
Thank you for all your replies, website was back up and running again today so managed to take the next step which turned out to be the payment page! Feeling very nervous now that it's submitted, will hopefully feel much better once we have been allocated a CO and have confirmation that we have not made any mistakes. The solicitor was brilliant, she only charged us £10 to certify everything so very pleased with that, she said she has done loads of Oz visa's which hopefully means that all the docs will be ok. Booked medical today for 9th June and will be filling out police check forms tonight so only thing left now is to get some electronic passport photo's and hopefully that ticks all the check list boxes for now. No mention of Form 80 so I'm wondering if we will need to do that later?!? Will upload all the documents together once we have the photo's in a few days, hope that will be ok. BIG FINGERS X for a successful visa application :smile2: Exciting and nervous all at once!!! -
Hiya, Hope everyone is well :-> We are applying online for our 176 visa and have filled out and saved 95%, we went back on the system tonight to complete the form so we can find out what comes next and what documents need uploading and certifying before our appointment at the solicitors 2moro and the online system is having maintenance or something so keeps crashing on us. Has anyone else applied online and if yes please could you advise what the last 5% questions are and what needs scanning in and uploading? Is it the same as the paper application? Also when you apply online do you fill out the form 80 online or is that incorporated in the main online application? Sorry for so many questions any help much appreciated. Thank you xxx

TRA, 5 months and still nothing!
Coomber Family replied to Coomber Family's topic in Visas and Migration
Finally we have success with the TRA, found out today after lots of phoning and emailing, hubby is a floor finisher and in total it took nearly 6 1/2 months for a response. Hope we are not too late to get the WA state sponsorship in and back (all approved hopefully) and then the 176 visa application in before 1st of July. Fingers x Hope you get replies a lot quicker then we did. xx -
Hiya, we have also recently got in a few quotes, ours is for a 4 bed house plus a few extra outdoor bits and work tools, we fill a 20ft container and average quote was between £4000 and £4500 plus insurance. We have decided to go with pss out of the ones that have quoted but can't say what they are like yet. Hope that is helpful.

Hiya, we submitted hubbies skills assessment to the TRA 5 months ago and on their tracking portal we are still 'awaiting assessment'! Has anyone else been waiting this long? Xxx

Darlington area opinions please
Coomber Family replied to Coomber Family's topic in Suburbs, Renting & Real Estate
Thank you both for your replies it's nice to hear opinions from people who have lived/live there as there is only so much you can learn from the internet. Since putting the post up we have booked a flight for hubby to come out to Perth to do a reccie trip in May for 2 weeks and the Kalamunda / Lesmurdie area are now on his list of places to visit. He would very much like to meet up with fellow trades whilst he is there to chat about the work situation in the area so if you know of any reputable property renovators or hardwood flooring specialists that we could contact we'd really appreciate the information. Thank you xxxx -
Hi, we are in the visa process and have started looking for places we might like to live. We would really appreciate opinions about what it's like in the Darlington area or if any one has any reccomendations of places to live in the country, not too far from city, maybe elevated so there is potential of views of the city in the distance and good for young children / socialising. Thank you.

I'm not quite sure if this is the right place to post this but would really like some opinions on what it's like living in the Darlington area? We have two children aged 5 and 3, my husband is a renovater / hard wood flooring specialist and we are looking for an area in the country, close enough to city/big town for hubby's work. Thank u.

Newbie hoping to move with family to Perth agent or diy
Coomber Family replied to Corinne14470's topic in News & Chat
Hiya, we have signed up with 'Go Matilda' and so far they have been really helpful. They were recommended to us by friends that are all now in Oz. They are not the cheapest but not the most expensive either if that is any help to you.
