  2. Hi, I'm interested in playing some football during the week day evenings, training with a team, knock about or 6 a side or something would be great, not really interested in signing up for a weekend team (to many past injuries and a bit out of shape for that!). I live in Bunbury so if anyone knows of a team/teams let me know! Ta
  3. Pictures of your haircut please
  4. We emigrated to Bunbury 2 weeks ago. WE LOVE IT! It is chilled and no way is it a city in our terms but everything you need is here. My husband is struggling to find work at the moment as the technical industries seem to have slowed and agencies have said it has gone a little quiet. He may have to go Perth direction and commute for couple months. We have made no new friends yet as we dont have children so its a bit more tricky. Cars are crazy expensive so make sure you allow that in your budget if you havent already. Rentals seem expensive but generally you do get what you pay for. Shopping is very expensive and drinking in a bar is VERY expensive but the wages are alot higher so that does make a difference. Happy to answer any questions you may have and please shout when your here and happy to meet for a beer. Good luck with everything.
  5. Manage to get a 2001 Mitsubishi estate full service history, good nick, all checks clear, 4 months rego, 142k for $2100, will be a bit juicy but its some reliable wheels. so it can be done.
  6. Hi my wife and I are arriving in Bunbury on March 12th and will be on the look out for a cheap used car/van/4x4/ute just to get us mobile anything considered as long as its in reasonable condition reliable and has rego. Max we really want to spend until we get work is around $2500 So if anyone knows of anything or a dealer that sells cheaper cars let me know! Cheers
  7. Hi, my wife and I are heading to Bunbury in March and are very much looking forward to it, although I don't have a job to go to so a bit worried about that side of things, but Im sure it will fine! Good positive post.
  8. Hi, I work for Cobham as a aircraft fitter in the UK. I'm moving to WA in March and was wondering if anyone works or knows someone that works for Cobham in WA, they also run Qantas link and a lot of fly in fly out operations as well as others. I'm looking to possibly get a internal transfer if there are any good positions as that would be a ideal way to start in Australia. Thanks
  9. Hey pink phoenix, we are from the Bournemouth/ringwood area and are moving to bunbury, flying out march 11th!

Hi, just wondering if I was to do my cbt bike licence before I move to WA would it be valid to use over there? Yhinking it would be a a cheaper mode of transport until I find work.
  12. Hi we are on our way! March 11th with our temp accommodation booked in bunbury. Looking forward to starting our new life in the SW of the region very much.
  13. I dont know if we can help as ours were clear and took 4 days fromdoing the medical to it being MET on DIAC website. Things seem to be moving very quickly.
  14. Thanks Phil. Wish we had looked at this and had people to tell us not to do certain things. You dont quite realise how important it actually is.
  15. This is a post to help those who are just starting out and are looking into using an agent to help with their application. We have used a specific company back in 2010 when we started our app and from the get go the agent we paid to handle our affairs were slow and staff turn around was incredible! (We are on case handler no:5)!! We lodged dec 2011 and had sent absolutely everything to our agents before that (except meds) to go along with app. We received an email mon from our newly appointed CO! YAAHH..... or so we thought. Turns out our so called 'AGENT' hasnt sent anything to embassy except our app. We are now being asked for everything again and our agent is avoiding us and we cant get any answers! This is 16 mths worth of paperwork! PLEEEEEAAAASSSSEEE research thoroughly before you decide on agents and looking into it more I wish that we would have used a smaller agent that really was more personalised. Or better yet do it all yourself and get advice from the good people on here! I Hope this post will help someone in future.
  16. Dont use Global Visas. Shocking! Wish we had done more research before paying them!
  17. Do the costs depend on which place you pick to do your medical in UK? We have a choice of about 4 different places.
  18. Thank you guys. I think listening to you all it is best if we stop trying for bit until meds done and then continue later. Also didnt know there was an additional fee to add a baby to visa. This was not told to us when investigating this last year. If anyone you know is looking at using Global Visas as agents please tell them not too. Terrible company. Thank you all for your input. Truly appreciated thank you x
  19. Hi, My husband and I are fast approaching medical time for a 175 and we have been trying for children. Does anyone know what happens if you are pregnant at your medical? I understand you have to do xrays. i do not want to put visa on hold. Can you still do a medical whilst being pregnant and can they do without xrays? HELP any ladies or gentleman that have been in same situation? Many thanks x
