Thanks Josie, we are here now safely . We went via Dubai with Emirates, the flight from Dubai to Perth is a killer! Don't worry about your visas, they will come in plenty of time. We had to get police certificates (due to minor offences years ago) and my OH had to have blood tests and stuff done due to being a nurse. It still only took a few weeks all in. When they had all the info it took about 48hrs! Thanks for the well wishes and I hope to see you sometime over here.

This time tomorrow I'll be in the air, there no going back now ..... ....... see you all on the other side!

Hi Kirsteen, I think we will all be in the same place for the first 5 weeks. My OH and daughter are coming 2 weeks after me now so should be good times ahead. It will be good to already know people when we go down to our Busselton base.

We have our Visa now That was a bit of a nervous wait ..... I thought it was never gonna come! It's really hit home now what were actually doing - eek. I've still got sh1t loads to sort out. At least we have our house rented out now, that was the main hurdle. Roll on the 20th, I'll see you all out there!

Congrats everyone, we are still waiting for the wife's blood tests to come back. I finish work tomorrow!

Hi Josie, has Crown relocations been in touch to arrange to come round and check out your requirements? They are coming to mine in the first week in August. Has Tara confirmed your start date yet? Most people have been given the 20th August. My wife has to go for a medical now in Manchester this weekend because she is going to work as a nurse on our visa, i think thats going to hold ours up a bit more. Still waiting .........

Wile E Coyote replied to Oz Dollar's topic in Suburbs, Renting & Real Estate
Thanks OZ, they are trying to bring the price down but we are standing our ground. We had another viewing today and it's looks very promising. we should hopefully find out tomorrow. -
Hi Phil, I'm just going through the 457 process. I was told that it is just immediate family, these would be your partner and dependant children ('under 18' or 'over 18 and finacially dependant on you') I'm sure that your mother would need her own visa.

Thanks Paula. I googled it. It looks like there are holidays for the first 2 weeks of October so she won't be starting the new term until the 16th of October!

Hi, my daughter will be going over to Perth after me with her mother in September. Seeing as she will have just had 5 weeks off school, I was wondering when the holidays are in the Western Australian system? Will she be coming straight from her summer hols into more hols? Also what are the term start dates, as it would be good for her to start her new school at the beginning of a new term. She is 9yr old and will be 10 in Jan 2013. Any info would be greatly appreciated..

Welsh Lad, I've just had one done. You need to download the form from http://www.acro.police.uk/police_certificates.aspx and send it in to them with the required docs. You can pay for the premium service £70 and they will send it back in 2 days..

Thanks Druid & Abzjap, I knew I'd get some good advice on here. I'll send off all I can this week and let you know how I get on.

uk house how long has is it been for sale?
Wile E Coyote replied to Oz Dollar's topic in Suburbs, Renting & Real Estate
We've had ours up for sale for about 6 weeks with no interest at all so we put it up for "sale or rent" and got 2 viewings booked within a day for renting! The first viewing has gone really well and she is bringing her husband round tomorrow. The second viewing is on Tuesday but I dont think we will be needing it to be honest! Rental seems to be the way to go with the way the market is at the minute. As Elfie says you always have the safety net of something to come back to aswell. (not that we plan to though, but nice to have) Not many people seem to be buying at the moment, people dont think the prices are going to go up anytime soon so whats the point? -
Hi Guys, Could you tell me, do I have to have my visa (457) before I appy for the approval? The application is asking me for a copy of my visa but it is still going through the system. I suppose I have just answered my own question there ) I think I will need to wait. I am due to go over straight away when my visa comes through though. Also they have asked for a copy of my passport (every page) and a statement of travel for the last 12 months. My passport was renewed in April and I have misplaced my old one - will this matter, do they just want a copy of the new one? I am thinking that I am going to need to leave the car with someone over here until I have my visa and then travel over and get some residential details in Australia and some sipping docs for my household goods? Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks, Wile..

Thanks Liverpoolloo, I will look into that. Anything to make this move go a little bit smoother..

Congratulations Corrine. I'm made up for you. I'm also leaving in August and getting the excited feeling too. -
Hi Jo, I have just opened a current and a savings account with them. I don't go till mid August. It was very easy to do online and the paperwork came through v quick. I can deposit funds but can't draw anything out until I get over there and prove my identity in branch. Hope this helps..

It's supposed to be the 20th August...

Ok so now I have signed & sent everything off to Fragomen, replied to all questions from Crown, got health insurance cover sorted, opened an Australian bank account ready to start transfering money, house hasn't sold so have put it up for rent, wife's applied for her nurse registration with APHRA, notice is in at work, leaving do's sorted ............ How's everyone else doing? Just in case anyone still hasn't heard from Fragomen, check your spam folder. I still hadn't heard on Saturday morning but checked my spam and had got the email on Thursday - Doh! I'm getting excited again now.
-
PM sent... I tried phoning Fragomen today too but it just rang out. I haven't sent the visa docs back yet as I am waiting for them to get in touch first and I am working away from home so cant get the wife to sign her bit until Friday. I have told work I'm finishing on 3rd August as I want 2 weeks at home to sort stuff out before I go. The wife is coming 6 weeks later (well that is the plan anyway) Wile.
-
Has anyone been contacted by Fragomen yet? Am I just impatient?? Tara's email said early in the week and its now Wednesday.. Rodm77, I had to give 3 months notice so its been in a long time. I'm still aiming for August but am worried about timescales. I'm not good at waiting. Wile.

She said that the relocation agents would be in touch. I had contacted Sirva yesterday and she was not happy about that at all! Reading between the lines I dont think they are going to be using Sirva for us guys, and that is what the hold up has been. I may be wrong though.. Anyway, things are moving now - which is always a good thing. Now then, where did I put my sunnies ...... lol
-
OK, calm down. Lol I've just spoken to Tara and the relocation agreements are being sent out today....
-
I had a generic email reply which told me not to worry, still looking for mid August, hope this helps, etc etc etc She didnt answer any of my questions!!!! What's going on?? I dont see how Sirva can be working overtime trying to sort out our Visa's when they havent even been in touch or sent us any forms to fill in. I tried to ring Tara this morning but just got through to her answer phone. I am not a happy bunny .......... :ssign10:
