  1. As a UK passport holder you meet the competent English requirement equivalent of having IETLS of 6, but No points are awarded. if you require points for English ability you need to sit the IELTS and gain scores of all 7's or all 8's in each section for 10 or 20 points.
  2. Go Matilda, Visa bureau and overseas emigration have good reputation. Make sure if use another agent they are MARA registered.
  3. Work experience usually has to be post qualification, some instances pre qualification work experience can be used for example accountants - have the degree but not finished becoming chartered. But have seen people lose their application fee when they have tried to use pre-qualification work experience. The is would be a question to be put forward to a RMA for them to assess. Or get work experienced assessed by EA, but DIBP can reject their assessments. It may be work looking for points elsewhere IELTS or state nomination.
  4. New processing times from London since end/start for July for child visas is now 8- 12 months. http://www.uk.embassy.gov.au/lhlh/immi_processing_times.html
  5. You can do any full time work to meet the eligibility for the 887. But actually either of you can be main applicant for the 887 if meet the requirements, it doesn't matter if you were secondary applicant on the 489 you can be main applicant on 887.
  6. If you are speaking about a working holiday visa, the 1st whv must be applied offshore ie anywhere but Australia. If you meet the eligibllity for the 2nd whv this can be applied for onshore while still holding 1st whv or can be applied offshore at a later date.
  7. From what I have seen on PIO they are pretty fast at taking the payment. If they haven't taken it within 2-3 wks prob give them a phone.

    Visa help?

Your points will be assessed with the score on dAy of invitation. It won't matter if you have birthday after you have been invited.
  9. Not applied for ours yet - but you will know that it has been received once they take payment from your account. Like the partner visas co in London get in touch within a couple of wks to advise when to do medical and police checks.
  10. You can always check vevo with passport no.
  11. It recently increased about 2 wks ago, from about 7-9 months, never been 3 months although it does say that on the website. Time frame is due to the planning levels of these visas per year only so many can be granted. We are in same situation not ready to lodge our child visa yet still have 2 years left in our pr still deciding if we're are going to move or not. Our pr took 6 wks to grant from lodgement.
  12. When you renewed your passports did you fill in form 929 to link you visas to new passport?
  13. New processing times for London for child 101 is now 10-12 months.
  14. There is no age limit for nurses - but for a PR visa 49 is age limit for employer sponsored or skilled migration. That leaves the 457 visa which could never become PR as nurses would not be able to meet the age exemption requirements. As as it has said above APHRA now are only accepting degree qualified nurses for registration.
  15. You will be able to travel and visit Australia but you will not be able to stay until visa is processed. as you applied offshore you must be offshore when the visa is granted. You can only get a bridging visa if you applied onshore even then there is limited circumstances this visa can be applied for onshore. Another issue you have is that visitors visa only allow study for up to 3 months, so you son Will not be able to go to school very long. Best at wait offshore as if visa granted while you are onshore it will be void.
  16. All agents in Australia are required to be MARA registered. The first 2 digits of their MARA number is the year they registered so can see how experienced they are.
  17. Are you using a MARA registered agent? The 189 is taking about 3 months to be allocated Co, it is best to wait to be requested for medicals and police checks but if you have front loaded them you may never hear from CO unless they require further information. Haven't seen many refusals but if over claimed points this is usually instant refusal. But if you can back up all your points claimed try not to worry about it.
  18. DIBP specifically state that the don't want to see loads and loads of photos, skype/phone transcripts as it is not considered as evidence that your relationship is genuine and ongoing. Joint tenancy agreement, joint liabilities home/car insurance/ joint bank accounts, wills. https://www.immi.gov.au/media/fact-sheets/35relationship.htm
  19. Your agent can't give you any info as they don't get feedback from MOC, and the MOC are not contactable., even a CO could not give any further information than what you already have. At one point referred medicals were taking 3+ months to finalise. I understand and it is hard to be away from your partner, mine also works away 6-7 wks at a time all year round. Sadly you you just need to wait it out, as contacting this on and that one is getting you more stressed out.
  20. Good luck - was that the academic test you sat?
  21. Her Medicals will be referred and you should take specialist reports with you to the medical to speed up this process. Best to get advice from your agent. I was always under the impression that the if the costs were above $100,000 over 5 years this would be instant refusal. Try not to worry about the medical part but I would guess that with the appropriate specialist reports that will prob pass the medical. My daughter had a operation on her hand when she was 51/2 months old - her medical was done at 12 months old - she still sees consultant every year for follow up checks. She passed her medical after it was referred for a few days.
  22. There is no limit to the amount of money you can carry but If you have more than $10,000 it needs to be declared. If you don't declare customs can confiscate all the money.
  23. Listen to your agent that's what you paying them for. Also as your agent it the named contact on the application the may not give you any information. Usually if there are issues with applications they are quick to contact you.
  24. The 489 is 4 years from date of grant - the old 475 was 3 years from date of first entry to Austrlia. So the 489 give more time to meet the 887 requirements. it is possible to get 1 one year 489 extension to help meet the requirements for 887. Also either you or your wife can be the main applicant on the 887 application for meeting the full time work requirement.
  25. We flew with MA when we went to validate our visas, don't think we would fly with them again. We just came through schiphol late yesterday afternoon returning from holiday. It's just so sad.
