Aussies missed 15 points worth of kicks. Had they been accurate there wasn't enough dubious decisions to have off set that. Lions looked tired.

Management/Financial Accountant

Once you have an arrival date it's much easier to have specific conversations with recruiters about roles. http://www.seek.com.au is a great source of jobs. A lot more firms are also recruiting directly, rather than go through agencies so approach them directly as we'll. i had applications in before I left and had a couple of 'chats' with companies before I flew out and face to face interviews for a few days after I arrived. I was fortunate enough to get an offer at the interview 3 days after arriving, so it was a combination of research and luck. pThe market has plateud out a bit over the last year, so salaries not as high and many mining companies reducing staff. Saying that many companies are taking the opportunity to improve systems and processes after rapid periods of growth, so if you have a systems accounting or finance transformation projects background that could help. Good luck -
I thinks it's fair to say the Wallabies lost the game, rather than the Lions won.

Family from London/Kent living in Mandurah...... Hello!
Adjutant replied to maginca's topic in Recreation & Socialising
Hi we are in Silver Sands as well. We are 44 (mum) and 42 (toy boy dad!) with two wee girls 5&7 at North Mandurah primary school and would be keen for a catchup. We might be considered slight imposters as we are originally from OZ, but have been living in Scotland for the last 10 years. Dad went to school and uni in Perth, but spent most of my working life in the UK and Mum from Adelaide, so new to Perth as we've only been back a couple of months. I'll look to PM soon, or PM us to arrange something. cheers -
I think it just depends on spaces. If you live in catchment they are obliged to take you, otherwise its discretionary.

You might even have a mortgage holiday allowance in you contract where you could stop payments for 6 months, otherwise I don't think you will have enough.

We are off to Murphys, Thai and the Oyster Bar tonight!

Amaysim runs off the Optus network, which is fine around the cities but if your regularly in remote areas Telstra would be better from what I gather.
-
We have gone with a pay as you go called Amaysim. It's $40 per month for unlimited calls to landlines and mobiles with 4Gb of data per month. We have two phones and use the mobile as a WiFi hotspot to run the iPad and laptop. I can remember the exact amount for international calls, but it was only a few cents per minute.

Same same. I have slightly high blood pressure and need a fitness to drive medical ... Nuts!

We had PSS and Pockfords quote for our move from Edinburgh to Perth. initially PSS seemed cheaper, but that had so many variable costs that we were so uncertain what the cost would be. When we got a revision closer to the date it went up by£600 and even then were subject to change. We went back for a revision with Pickfords and they were cheaper and fixed the price, so I would give them a chance. dont get insurance through the removalists though. They are much more expensive and actually cover very little . weve used http://www.insure-your-move.com. Much cheaper and covers more.

We made it !! We left wet, raining, cold Glasgow and arrived to a wet, raining, warm Perth ... at least it was warm ! The kids have spent the first two afternoons at the beach (surprise surprise) Now the fun begins. Already registered the kids in school and will have the other varies government departments to register with ... joy!
-
Hi all, we are all checked in at Glasgow airport Be there tomorrow afternoon. yay !
-
Or you think... "Why on earth did I pack this?"
-
Double snap.. Our shippers arrived today as well. We fly out on Thursday, but it's supposed to rain in Perth on Friday when we arrive! At least it will be warmer.
-
I also agree that PIO gets a bit intense at times ... lots of haters on both sides.
-
Snap .. we fly out 1 week today !! Hooray
-
Thanks for this tip .. their quote is hundreds of pounds less than the Pickfords recommended insurance company and covers more.

The most helpful advice I could give is to give it a go ... I think its better to have tried than to never know. In many peoples cases family will be a pull factor back at some point, so rather than charging right in consider leaving your house here and renting it out. In Perth just rent for a while and if after a couple of years things are going well and you want to buy maybe then sell your UK home. You will constantly compare lots of things for a while .. but eventually it will subside and you will see the good and bad of both places and can make a longer term decision from then. But with an age range much like my own time is not on your side and your kids ages a good time to do it. Things have a great way of working out for the best ! Cheers

Having just come back from our last Scottish Easter Break up at Creiff, i will definitely missive the scenery around the Perthshire and the Scottish Highlands - especially the snow capped mountains this time of year. 10 days until we fly out !!
-
In exactly two weeks time we'll be 90 mins into our flight from Glasgow heading to Perth .....
-
Enjoying the last bit of snow tonight ... dont get much of this in Perth (except at the last ice age)

This is a very honest post from someone from Perth who has lived in the UK (especially the awesome city of Edinburgh) for the last 9 years, that an appreciation of Australian music will definitely help adapting to the Aussie lifestyle. An important part of this transition is that Boy bands / Girls bands have never been a part of Aussie lifestyle (lets face it no one likes Justin Beiber ... well anyone over the age of 12 at least). In Perth 96fm is a popular radio station, and what great about it is that its play list hasnt really changed since the late 80's. And it is about the best ime for Aussie bands. Take a look on Youtube at Top Tracks for Cold Chisel http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=AL94UKMTqg-9Dp7GRAfeAkMXB51I3RGEb2 Plus also look up Men at Work - top tracks Down under in particular is pretty much the second official national anthem I love that fact its an era where bands actually play instruments. I'm also a great fan of Mumford and Sons .. excellent band.
