Are there any young single mums out there looking to catch up to do activities with the kids?

Hi pips, i was just putting the feelers out there for a friend of mine, who has only been in oz for 7 weeks. He is in shared accommodation but would like to move out into a house/flat share with some people male/female, that had similar interests to his ie exploring oz, nights out etc as the people he is sharing with at the moment dont venture outside the suburb they r living in. He has a job and would be able to provide references.

i'm really struggling with the cold. It's not too bad outside (on a horrible day) but inside is FREEZING!! Is there a reason why they don't have central heating here? Coz it's definately cold enough for it!!

Hi, We have visitors coming for a week and they have 2 teenage boys (15 + 16), can anyone recommend things for the boys to do? Something that will get their adrenalin going? Apart from the beach and parks, i can't find too much else. Where would the best place be for watersports that isn't too expensive? Thanks Alana rose

I've heard that you have to "register" when you are being state sponsored. Does anyone know anything more about this? Seemingly your 2 years don't start being counted until you've registered. We thought that as soon as we emigrated, the 2 years would have started from then as surely it is noted when your passport gets stamped?? Alana

Hi Donna, I think if you were at home you'd hardly see your son....my eldest daughter past her driving test last year (we were all living in Scotland at that time) and since then we hardly ever saw her and i experienced the feelings that you are going through now (and she still lived at home). We have since moved to Perth and i miss her loads, but i've got to remind myself that i missed her when we were back home too. Its hard when they move on.

aww, i work on a saturday, and sometimes i don't finish till later. I can finish at 1 or finish at 5. I don't know until that actual morning. I'll be sad to miss another gathering, is there ANY chance of making it a Sunday? Alana x
