  1. http://www.migration.wa.gov.au You just need 60 points for state sponsorship. Any points above that don't count for anything.
  2. Hi. For WA you also have to apply for sponsorship and pay $200. Is your occupation on the WA wanted skills list?
  3. I had mine two weeks ago too. I HATE WAITING!!!
  4. Hi, Have you gone through the VISA wizard on the immigration website? http://www.immi.gov.au/visawizard/ Coastie.
  5. Hiya, Lots of people have done it by themselves. Especially if your case is straight forward. £2000 sounds okay. I paid £2,600 for mine. If you go it alone, just make sure you read all the advice on the immigration website over and over. Also ask lots of question on here. Don't assume anything! One simple mistake. E.g. assuming superior English just because you speak the language can get your visa declined and you have to fork out another $3000 to reapply. Best of luck!
  6. Do you have digital photos of all your trips away? I used the time/date data from them to work out the dates. Coastie.
  7. They are listed somewhere else. It's says so on the website but have no idea where.
  8. The 190 visa invites are done as and when they are approved by the state. They don't follow any patterns like the 189s do.
  9. I tried BAE first as I work with them in the UK. It was a while ago so I will try them again. @chocky thanks for the advice.
  10. Another 5 points for state sponsorship and automatic invite if you are accepted.
  11. Hi Chocky, I've tried looking at transferable skills and have seen a lot of suitable jobs but they all say "minimum of 5 years oil and gas experience" or "5 years railways experience essential" at the end. I guess I'll just have to apply for them anyway when I arrive. It's frustrating but I'm not being put off! Rob.
  12. Hi. I've just received a positive skills assessment for 233311 Electrical Engineer. EOI and State Sponsorship application forms in last week. My background is within the Defence industry. I would love to work at the Naval Base at Garden Island, however, you need to be an Australian Citizen. The oil and gas jobs requires oil and gas experience. The railway jobs requires railways experience, etc, etc. I don't know what else I can do!! I've been in Defence since I left school. Has anyone else had any similar experience or managed to get into Defence without citizenship?
