Hi All I was just after some firm info on exactly what you need to get when you arrive so as you can get licensed up and get a job? I know you need the ARTICK Licence, a restricted electrical and you need to do some training at a college. Could anyone let me know what order you have to do it in. Where do you have to go to get it done as if I need to book etc I want to do it before I get there, or see if I can get something done on my reccie visit. Not sure if there is anything I can do before I leave the UK? Doesn't seem to be from what I can see. All advice will be gratefully received Thanks Kev

Hi We are going to have a 2 week validation visit during the year and we wanted to know if once the visa is 'validated' Once you move out on the one way ticket can you still request the additional baggage allowance or 1 way migration flight deals that some airlines do? Hi All I was just wondering what caravans cost, ie are they really expensive? I have had a look and although a bit different from the UK they are pretty pricey. Has anyone brought one over with them? Is it like a car where you have to have owned it for 12 months as I have heard there is no timed restriction on them. May be worth shipping 1 over to sell and put the profit into the new house fund. Hi All Been looking into getting the dog sorted out for the move with us. Just wondering if anyone who has done this has tried to do it themselves rather than using a pet moving service? I know you can go with various levels and do all the paperwork and vet stuff yourself then use a freight company to book the dog on the aircraft. Any advice, positive and negative would be great. Hi Liz It's the start of a big adventure. Go for it rent a car and find it yourselves........You can also normally get Sat Nav with your hire car too. We did when we went over, roads are pretty good too. Good Luck

Hi All Just wanted to know what you can and can't do on a visa validation visit. Do you have to wait until you move full time to activate you bank account, apply for medicare, change your driving licence, apply for tax id etc? I know you are likely required to have a contact address in Oz for that stuff and I was hoping that, if we have to do an extra visit, I could use the address for a contact and have everything in place so when we do arrive for good it will save us a couple of weeks of not working etc. Thanks in advance Kev

HI We have had Crown, Anglo, PSS and John MAsons out. Masons guy who came to see us was really good. All pretty good who came and want about the same in costs. Crown include everything but we are still waiting for the cost to come and John Mason will be the one if not Crown and they want £3750 from Chorley to Perth for a 20' container. Only extra to pay with Masons is the customs inspection fee in Freemantl, Usually about $400 I'm told and the marine insurance which none of the companies do. You can always ring your current contents insurance provider to check your current cover for removals some do cover international but even if they don't they will likely give you a quote. Hello All, I am sure that everyone is sick of the question but I am after some help and advice on the short term rental situation. We are not looking till later in the year but better to organize sooner I am told. Anyone got any recommended landlords or rental agents I could try? We are hoping to get somewhere Sinagra, Edgewater, Joondalup sort of area. How hard is it to get a short term when you have a small dog in tow? Hopefully he will be in quarantine for a bit though. Do you think that 30 days will be enough to find a long term rental? Best case would be to get a long term direct from the UK before we arrive, is this even realistic? Now we are getting ready to go I am sure we will have loads of what seem like daft questions. Appreciate any advice though. Cheers Kev and Mandy
