I never realised until we moved here how many people search out an area for schools .. as in the UK you just went to the catchment area school .. not a lot of people had a choice of moving to village/towns just for a school ... makes you think we are quite lucky to able to make that choice as immigrants

I would think High Wycombe would be better for travelling to hazelmere .. we have friends who live there .. its an older suburb not sure of the schools there are newer houses within it as well .. we looked at both tbh for living when we moved down the hill from Kalamunda ( my oh worked at the Airport at that time ), its only ten minutes away from Midland which has a huge shopping complex and not far from the winery's and caversham park etc .. Ellenbrooke is also nice though a tad far up and out for us at the time .. we chose leeming instead . Have a look at maida vale ( across the rd from High Wycombe ) kalamunda , Lesmurdie , Wattle Grove , and Willeton or Riverton ? there are some nice area's around depending on what you need and would like .. remember that first rental is only a stepping stone unless your really in need of a school you really want to get in to Some of the Hills area's are beautiful ... You pay all your tax in UK while renting anyway our agents did that and we had to fill in all forms through solicitors etc I'm sure there was a huge thread on this on poms in oz not so long ago ... you could also ask on there as its a bigger site

Don't qoute me on this .. i thought you only paid tax from that country .. maybe you should contact moneycorpe or somewhere to check , we sold our house two years ago this november and we only paid up that end and just sent the money over with HSBC our bank .. we had rented it out for 3 years and decided to buy here so like you wanted the money for the house etc .. unless anything has changed in that time ?

Google private schools in WA.. Baldivis has a new high school opening in Feb and also has Tranby college, most are church schools like Catholic or Lutheran or Baptist etc its also a point to think about

Why does it come across as south being more industrial? Is that because of Henderson , kwinanan and canning vale , welshpool etc ...be cause there are areas north that are as well ..they just seem more spaced apart down south, thoughts ?

Most i used to find are just plain nosey or our for a sunday afternoon outing , Grrrrrr good luck !

We sold ours from here , after renting it for two and a half years .. not that bad .. estate agents did the viewings , we had a solicitor and just did it all through e mails and air mail (n registered post ).. the only bad thing was it sat empty for a few months and we had to beg family to go and do the gardening etc

I have been told Moore river is a nice place to stay .. not sure on accomodation though .. are you camping or holiday letting ?? have you looked at a book called holidaying with dogs , got ours from the camping shop .. not a big section on WA unfortunately . So age or circumstance related whats a good night out entail over here in Perth for you ? I thought this would be an interesting thread , were a 40's family with a younger dauaghter and for us if and when we head out it would be for a family meal out at a restaurant we are heading to a Sizzlers tomorrow with family a bit like a harvester in the Uk or we love to go to the foreshore and have a meal or like last weekend fish and chips sat watching the sea and in the park at Rockingham foreshore .. maybe Mandurah or Freemantle for a meal . Cinema we love a movie night , usually at an Ace or United cinemas for us, again we head to Rockingham as tha'ts nearer though i do met up with friends and do the gold louge at other areas great fun with a meal and a glass of wine with the girls and meals out one our favourites is Nicholsons bar and grill in canning vale .. So what and where would you be off out .. city or other places ? its great for newcomers for ideas too !

I'm not sure tbh but people i know buy them from Bali all the time ... eeek not much help i'm sure

Off the top off my head i would say subiaco or East perth those sort of places even the city itself, my sister used to live bang in the middle and loved it ! all the best and i hope others pop along with some advice for you

www.dogwalks.com.au speak to karen , we used them its not that much considering what your already outlaying and it's an extra tuzz and a bit more attention whilst they are in alcatraz . Just kidding, its Quarantine so basically they can't go out , but they cope better than we do honest i was a basket case when my dog came out , he came ahead of us .. they email you pictures and updates etc .

The Roxby a thai at o connor along the way from you is great , also Nickolsons bar and grill in canning vale is great for meals Freo has some good places , i like little creatures but im never impressed with their food Congratulations

We just bought a new tent and we thought we got a good deal ( $400 $ 8 person ) sale if id have had them and i was shipping id bring it all .. google kangeroocity.com and kellys and other camping shops , my only thing was the tent must have a tub ground sheet fully sown in and seeled hehe plus fly screens .. Grays online auctions do camping stuff too
