Cripes id say i hope not .. but saying that we really really need rain here in winter to make up for none the rest of the year ! Take them to Chipmunks for a play or scitech in Perth or Aqwa lots of places to go indoors if wet , then tell them all the good things to do in the spring and summer .. get the kids to make a to do list .. that will cheer them !

Amanda , there are lots of livery yards ( called Ajistment here . ) and properties with land this way , Baldivis even has its own pony club .. I think there are quite a few Riding stables dotted around any way , also Serpentine and surrounds are really big areas for keeping Horses

Hello and welcome to PP , tbh hard to answer that question as the luck of the drawer would be renting a house with an animal lover and also if the house isn't private would the agency allow it ? not to be doomer and gloomer its quite hard getting rentals in certain area's with pets i would say have a look at www.gumtree.com to see if anyone has any adverts it may give you an idea how the wind blows , good luck

Hello Sunnyside , welcome to PP ... have you holiday'd since you left here ? it will be interesting to hear how much has changed since if you havn't .. good luck with the move !

Shoalwater and Saftey Bay have an older apeal and are both lovely , though i couldn't say regarding the schools not that i have heard anything off about them tbh . Baldivis is one of the fastest growing suburbs its still classed as semi rural but has older area's and newer area's i live in the older part .. you would have to go into the school in your catchment area ( Baldivis Primary is catchment for Baldivis central , North , The Chase and up to Safety Bay rd including the Sherwood Estate and some property's over the same side . ) unless you choose Tranby College which is private and then you can live wherever you choose .

EEEk, and you wouldn't be outdoors in water unless your BRAVE !! Hehe.. i know some surfers do though !

Hello simcar , I also have been hairdressing 24 years ! won't mention age ... anyway there are usualy quite a few hairdressing jobs advertised on www.seek.com.au and also the Wed and saturday copies of the Western Australian paper .. they are jobs days for all .. i have walked into both my jobs here no problem ( same as you lots of courses and the required certificates etc ) , when we first arrived you had to re-sit the WA state Hairdressing Exams . Practical and theory .. its now been abolished as has the state registration which was required yearly The hairdressing website is still available to look at and you can read up bits on there .. I work in Baldivis now , i did work In a shopping Forum .. which i hated before .. longer hours just didn't like being in a shopping mall , works for some and not others

I do shop around and buy as and where ..

:ssign15: As and when possible , i myself am a Hairdresser working in WA. So if you have any questions i will answer if i can , also sometimes its hard trying to catch up with all posts and we miss the odd ones .. personaly i feel this forum has a great friendly feel to it and offers as much advice as can be given ... if in doubt of a question or answer given remember to check with agents etc or maybe pop over to our sister site www.pomsinoz.com as there are a lot more members and they may have that elusive answer

Which town is walking distance to a train stop?
jackboots replied to a topic in Suburbs, Renting & Real Estate
I used to live in Leeming and could walk to Murdoch train station and Bus , also walk to the stockland shopping center nearbye That saying most suburbs are quite large so you would want to live nearer rather than further away from shops /train etc which we did in Leeming, also it was a 20 drive to the beach . -
If its not raining as soon as that sun goes down its flipping cold ! Bring a nice warm dressing gown and slippers !! I have put my 20 tog quilt together this week ..

Or the Hills area's like Kalamunda , High Wycombe , Maida Vale ( though not much happening here only ten mins drive to Midland ).. when you say bit of life do you mean Busy people etc or social etc , Guildford is nice ..Used to like a drive there to watch a polo match , near the winerys for days out and also slap bang near Midland .

jackboots replied to linda@no9's topic in Suburbs, Renting & Real Estate
Midland ( i used to work there ) is a very long drive from mandurah or even Secret harbour .. it takes nearly an hour From Baldivis to midland and we are just over ten mins nearer from secret harbour to the freeway and possibly 25- 30 mins from mandurah to Baldivis . Hope that gives you an idea if you look at the maps -
Welcome to PP .. and good luck with al things Oztralian

I used a council owned run .. long day care facility that also catered for half and full days .. unlike some you could also use it as occasional care ie mornings . Try and see ( google ) if there are any near you , i was very impressed unlike some and it was ran very strict and felt very safe my daughter loved it , bit to far away from you though !
