All starting to become very real!!! First part of my plan has come together, my sister has moved from Melbourne to Perth last week, all in preparation for our move in September. House under offer today after only a week on the market, now start to price containers ( any recommendations welcome). Now looking at flights to move early September........yipeeeeee. We are planning to move to the Mandurah area and would love to hear from anyone in and around the same area. As a welcome present to myself I have booked tickets to see Robbie Williams in Perth with my sister!!! I would really love to hear from anyone planning to arrive around the same time.... BigAngel

Hi everyone We are planning to come over September 2014, looking at Meadows Springs or Lakeland's. I have a 15 year old girl going into years 11 & 12. I would really appreciate some advise and recommendation on which schools we should be considering. We had some brilliant news last week which will make our move to OZ easier, my sister who has live in Melbourne for 3 years is moving to Perth next month with her husbands job. This is the icing on the cake for us, this means I can be close to my 3 small nephews and my daughters will have their auntie for extra support. Thanks in advance for any help and advice BigAngel

Hi, i read a post regarding the medicals last week from travel chic from widnes, and i think we had our medicals just after you in Manchester Bridgewater hospital, i don't know if you have any news on getting your visa grant yet but just to let you know we had our grant through on saturday morning so you shouldn't be far behind i am sure, good luck. -
What will your daughter do when you get to Perth andyplaster now she has done so brilliantly in her GCSE's?
-
Thanks Ali. My daughter is getting quite stressed about leaving half way through her GCSE's, my thought was for her to finish GCSE in 2015, have her prom with her friends then come over and start years 11 and 12 which would enable her to keep her GCSE (just in case we don't settle and come back to the UK) and also have the WACE Cert. I know this would mean redoing year 11, however its only 6 months extra then the UK....... Is this madness? I am concerned she wont settle and fail her exams.

This is so stressful trying to make the right decision!!! I am right in thinking years 11 and 12 is similar to college over in the UK?

Thank you for the information, it was as I thought!!! I have emailed WA Uni for some advise and will speak to an agent.

Hi Guys Looking for some advise, we have just applied for our 489 visa, we are in the process of looking into areas to live, there are a few variables to consider!! We have a 14 and 18 year old daughters. The 14 year old will be staying in the UK to finish off her GCSE rather than start again half way through. Our 18 year old will be applying for University next year to start January 2015. My request for information is a little complicated and hope you can help. 1) On a 489 Vias will my daughter be free to choose any University within WA, or will have to stay within regional area chosen? 2) Looking at funding, will she qualify for a student loan and pay resident fees rather than international fees? 3) Has anyone currently or experienced their child going to University, help and advise would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. BigAngel

Hi Nikkiwd, just an update, noticed on another thread that you have received your invitation great news, i also received our invitation on the 15th and have actioned it, good luck for the future.

Hi, Thanks for your info, we did exactly the same yesterday, we rang WA and they told us that any EOI registered before july would not get looked at so we resubmitted last night, so fingers crossed we get a reply this time. we also emailed 4 times and didnt getting answers, just cut and paste emails, better to ring in the future, in my opinion. Thanks anyway and Good luck.

Hi, does anybody know the timescale of getting a reply back for the 489 regional visa, it seems to be a lot quicker for the 190, we sent our EOI in May and have not heard anything yet, does this seem right? Thanks and congrats to the floorman i remember your frustration at the ielts.
