Hi, I have 2 children and we didn't bring our seats with us because we were told they were not legal here however for my 5 year old we have ended up buying an identical seat. for my 2 year old son in a full chair with 5 point harness we did have to get new because the seat needs to be rear fastened, the seat belt through the back is not acceptable here so if your kids are in these seats then just leave them. However my daughter is 5 and in a booster with back which is not attached to the car, just a seat which uses the adult seat belt. This is the same seat as she had in the uk so if you have these then you can bring them with you

Hi, our friends have got their kids a 4.5m x 2.2m intex above ground pool, they got new from gumtree. I can't find the same pool online but can find similar sizes by other brands. Does anybody have an 'airtime' pool or any other brand not intex and how do they compare to intex? Cheers

Hi everyone i asked last week about my relatives buying gifts for my children on line and got some good replies about uk shops that deliver here. Just wanted to share that I found a toy shop that accepts orders from the UK, my friend ordered on Saturday and the toys arrived gift wrapped today. They have a good selection of toys as well so if anyone wants to have a look go to 'yogee toys' online happy shopping !

Hi, we just moved and our daughter had to go into kindy as she was 5 on July9th so only just missed out. With regard to 'going back a year' we have found this to be the case in kindy, very play based my daughter said this school is great we just play all the time and hardly do any work. That said the head has reassured me that as she is more advanced than some of the others her educational needs will be met next year ( we lived in the Middle East for a while and she has been in full time education learning phonics etc since she was 3). My son in 2.5 years and is not in nursery so not being pushed like daughter was in Qatar nursery so I think he'll fit in great when he is kindy age. The classroom etc and facilities are fab at the school so I'm not concerned . I have met other uk parents who have not been happy with the educational content of kindy but you have to accept we live here now and this is the way it's done ....

Hi, we are a family of four, 2 kids aged 5&2. We would like to come to the meet up if its ok! We have been here 5 weeks and have just moved into a long term rental in padbury.

Sorry I meant inducting ! Because I have not done trust induction days I guess or have experience of australian nursing. They advised to apply again when I had 6 months wa experience. However it's proving quite hard to get a permenant position, hardly any roles advertised none of which are in my speciality. I have applied to the pools and addressed selection criteria in a 4page document of examples but have heard nothing! Hence now looking at casual agencies, anything to get working
-
Hey, does anyone know of any casual work nurse agencies in perth? I've tried nurse west but they will not accept as I would need inducing to wa government hospital! Need some work to stop the dream becoming a nightmare .........

If you have 10 hours get yourself out of ther and head to Dubai mall. If you hold a British passport it is free to exit in Dubai, check your hand luggage into the property hold and get a taxi over, there is so much to do at the mall not just shopping. Aquarium and art plus fab restaurants outside by the 'lake' in the shade of the burj khalifa ( you can go up this as well if you like, we've done it and its good) and if its after 6pm you can see the dancing fountain show. Definetly worth a visit, 10 hours, even in an airport as equipped as Dubais will be boring

We were due to arrive 1 st January ....... But found ourselves unexpectedly here already!
-
Sunflower are you in Qatar? We lived there for 3 years! Our Qatar police checks actually took 5 months to arrive ..... If you have a friend there or are still there you can go with passport to immi dept at top of salwa and it takes 1 week. Much easier. to all others, congrats on your visa invites ! We just arrived here , it's beautiful .......

I keep reading bout fireworks at waneroo or hilarys and there seems to be a bit of an on / off debate going on. Can anyone tell me if there is an organised display anywhere that I can take my kids to? We missed bonfire night due to being in Saudi where absolutely sod all happens and their Xmas budgets are about $5 each so it'd be nice if they could get excited about something lol
-
P.s thanks Louise but I obv bought today before seeing your post! You don't have a spare washing machine lying around though don't you ? Lol
-
Thanks, we got two today from baby buntings (?) in joondalup, both on sale so just under $200! Yes lozzachino I had 2 great seats I left in Saudi because I didn't think I could use here then I get here and discover I could of brought my daughters after all! The one we have bought today is not as nice as the one we left behind .....

Car seats are so expensive ! Anyone know a good place to buy one ? My son is 2 years and 4 months so really don't want to spend a fortune on something we will only use for another year or so.

Hi, I called ahpra office today, they said they are updating all standards including education and experience for overseas trained nurses however this should not affect my application other than it will take longer than normal. Not quite the same answer a friend of mine got when she called so I'm hoping my lady is right. i sent regular cv but had problems with a letter I had sent from high school to prove English language skills as I Haven't done ielts so had 6 weeks to obtain correct documents, have them certified then sent back in
-
I'm no good at adding links but if you go on aphra website and look under overseas nurses application standards it states that they are under review and the previous standards are no longer in use. I am going to call aphra tomorrow to ask re progress of my aphra and these legislation changes
