Yeah come on everyone i'm really interested in this thread as we will be there at end of this month...( just realised i said this month !!!)...anyway i digress, what's Xmas in Perth etc all about events etc....

My 14 year old daughter had a few wobbles at the start of our process and just recently we were in the position where she had to get her dad to sign the required documents, he was being a wee bit awkward and we basically said to her she needs to talk to her dad and grow up and bit....Talk to him about signing the documents ...or you are not coming....Harsh but did have the desired effect.... I know it's a bit different but have you maybe said to her look You can stay with your dad and move to Suffolk or you can come with us....set a deadline date and ask for a decision...we were prepared for our daughter to stay with her dad even though it would have been heart breaking we did play the tough love card !!!! i do hope you get it sorted and will wait to see how you get on....

Jeff We have a 457 visa and moving to OZ next month... You need to make sure your skills are on the Wanted List which is on the IMMI website....If you go on there you can check and then it is about applying for jobs....I can tell you from experience 457 is very hard to get sponsorship just now. My wife is in nursing which is high on the wanted list so i'm not sure about your trade.... http://www.seek.com.au is a good job site If your trade is on the list and you can be patient and go for the PR visa i'd probably say to you as would many on here that it has more benefits than the 457.... Good luck pal and anything else just ask...this site is fantastic

it's the much debated 457 visa for us VK so probably why we get 30kgs but i will double check

Ok so I ranted earlier but I'm wine'ally relaxed, I mean finally relaxed and booked the flights !!!!! After lots of research and listening to opinions went for Singapore.....glasgow to heathrow to Singapore to perth .... Leave glasgow wed 30th oct 7.55am then we leave heathrow 10.55am !!!

hi stormy yeah job is just down in Midland but couple of boss's stay in Ellenbrook so we've checked out that side of things..... i do appreciate there are +'s and -'s to both side of things i just need to let off steam lol

Ok so i'm an angry Scotsman at the moment........ I just don't understand the issue here... We are going to arrive in Perth 31st October.... We are hoping to settle in or around Ellenbrook.... We have no family in Oz and we have friends who can pick us up and put us up for 3 or 4 days! What the hell is the big issue with renting a property before we arrive for a longer term.... Short term rental i do appreciate for the holiday market are expensive...but not only that we can't find one near where we want to settle... We can't register the kids in school before we get a rental in the area.... We are desperate to get the kids registered as soon as we get there as the schools break up for the summer break at the end of November so we want the kids to have a month under their belts so they can at least meet a few people especially my 14 year old....If we don't they are gonna have a long hard 3 months before the start school.... It's so annoying that people just don't understand these things and show a little common decency to people positions !!!!!!! Ok OK I know i'm not the only one but hell i swear i'm gonna start my own estate agents and only rent to UK immigrants and treat them as individuals with needs !!!!!!! rant over !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS i do promise i am a nice calm family man

OK so we are gonna arrive at the end of October. We have friends who are going to put us up for 2 or 3 nights. We need a 6-8 week furnished rental until our stuff arrives and find something more permanent. My wife's job will be Swan area, and we will have to rely on public transport initially. If anyone here's or see's anything in surrounding area's please let me know...... Or you may just see the 5 of us sleeping in a BIG box in a bus shelter

ochilgal...i'd apply for AHPRA as it lasts a year anyway. My wife is MH nurse and we got through all th paperwork ourselves without agent, hoping to leave scotland by End Oct now we have visa...Where are u in scotland...we are in Ayrshire

after 14 years maybe redundancy will help you finance your move !!!!! :-) after the shock my MD has been ok with me and i've been helping put things in place for me leaving next month to help with the transition
