  1. Smart phones are available with contracts, here is an example http://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/mobiles-on-a-plan/iphone-5s/index.htm
  2. Sorry if I read this wrong, but there are only 4 of you in total? If so, take the mini bus option to Rockingham, then hire a car the next day. No need for a people carrier unless there were 6+ of you.
  3. Just a friendly reminder of this! Hope to see some of you this evening
  4. Just an update Due to the success of our under 13’s team this season, we have had enquires from parents asking if Peel United Soccer Club will be having more junior teams for the 2015 season. The club is always open for new players to play for the club, but will only field a team if a coach is put in place. Therefore, we would like to invite all potential coaches to an informal information session about the club, its philosophies and plan for next year. No qualifications are necessary as the club would look at assisting you in gaining them. All we ask is your dedication and willingness to have fun and enjoyment watching our young players develop and grow while representing Peel United Soccer Club. The session is on Monday 25th August at 6pm at the Mandurah Bowls Club, opposite Mandurah train station. Come and see why we are the fastest growing football club in the area and join our friendly club.
  5. All suburbs will attract a mixed response from people. We first lived in Warnbro when we arrived and could not get away quick enough, however, we have friends live there and its a nice road with a great house.
  6. There are plenty of football and cricket clubs in that area to join. It will be the end of the local football season when you arrive so look at the local cricket clubs and go from there.
  7. You did the right thing by not saying your goodbyes at the airport. We said ours at Piccadilly Circus the night before we moved over here. We caught a Heathrow bound tube while the parents caught one going the other way.
  8. My lad went to South Halls Head and had no problems there at all
  9. Welcome to Mandurah, its a lovely place to live!
  10. For those still in the UK, get your phones unlocked over there and don't leave it until you get here!!! Cheaper and easier from the UK
  11. I don't mind the AFL, you need to go to watch a game live to get a greater appreciation of it.
  12. The cost of Foxtel, just for the sport is $74 per month. They show 98% of all the premier league games live. If you want to watch real football, you have to subscribe to Setanta Sports, which is an extra $20 per month and they show live Championship, League 1 and League 2 games. They also have a weekly highlights show for the football league. Additionally, they have more live football than Fox Sports. An increasing number of pubs are showing live games, especially the lunch time kick offs. Murphy's in Mandurah do, although they have the sound off, so you just watch pictures. The casino has a sports bar which shows nearly all games in the night time. The best bit about the start and finish of the season is there is only 7 hours time difference, so you can watch a 3pm kick off at 10pm and be in bed by midnight, otherwise, during the main part of the season, kick off is at 11pm.
  13. Following on from the success of our under 13's team this season, Peel United Soccer Club are seeking expressions of interest for coaches to join us and form additional junior teams for the 2015 season. We are looking for someone to coach an under 13's, and under 12's team. You will have full responsibility of the team, including the team selection and training night or nights. Games will be played on Sunday mornings in the Football West competition. Coaching experience would be good but not essential as we can send you on various coaching courses that are held. For more information, please contact me.
  14. If you have your own container, bring everything! You can sell any unwanted furniture when you get here. I don't think I have ever seen a HSBC here. We opened a Commonwealth Bank account when we were still living in the UK. They have an office in London which we did all the paperwork from. Can't give you any info regarding the airline, sorry
  15. The locals would tell you this.... Joondalup = Little Britain of the North Rockingham = Little Britain of the South
  16. When I first arrived here, Baldivis consisted of a Caltex servo and a vet! Nothing else!
  17. take a look at the Hotham Valley Railway which is very senic this time of year

  19. My answer to the cold...
  20. My wife part owns a horse with the view to buying it. There are plenty of stables in the Baldivis area, on the east side of the freeway. You can get vet insurance here too.
