  1. Hi all. My anmac skills assessment has just been completed and they say it is in post today and will take a few weeks. My next stage is EOI. I am a community staff nurse. I left my last job as a surgical nurse in september last year after 19 months and did not tell anmac i am now a community staff nurse as from september last year because i did not want my boss to know for a reference etc. Anyway my anmac skills will be for a surgical nurse but the anzco code for a community nurse when applying for visa 189 will be different. My questions are:- 1 - Will it be ok with a different anzsco code too what skills say because it is the same unit group code 2544 etc? 2 - I wanted to have all this back by 1st July for lesser fees but next round eoi wont be until that day, do they send emails out a day early by any chance (here's hoping). 3 - I am not using an agent - so just wondered this EOI is it straightforward, is there anything I need to watch out for because I read on forums that there are some misleading questions? 4 - Can I start my eoi now and then save it for when my assessment letter comes I can just submit it. If anyone could help, I would be most grateful.

    Anmac

    Hi. Just to let anyone know who is awaiting anmac. I have had an email today. I have been waiting 11 weeks and 6 days and my email says that she has assessed my case and is satisfied and has now passed it onto the 2nd reviewer who will assess within 10 days and then post out my LOD. Hopefully this is normal and that it turns out to be positive. Just waiting now but at least it is a step further cos I was getting fed up with the waiting and I have tried my best to be patient.
  3. What has anyone put here on question 12 - What is your health practitioner registration history? State/Territory/Country - straightforward Category of registration - would this be adult nursing? Profession - ? Registered Nurse? Period of registration? is this when i was very first registered with nmc and do i put an end date. Thank you.
  4. Hi. I am going crazy waiting for ANMAC and I have already collated my documents for Visa 189 ready to go to solicitors when/if i get an invite. I now need to move on to next thing which is AHPRA. Gosh this migration thing is making me tired. I think about it everyday. Waiting everyday. Anyway. What I am asking is can anyone clarify if i have got the right form. Is It the application form for general registration (graduated or trained overseas). It says AGOS - 40. Do I just print it off and fill it in or do you apply online? I thought i might start filling it in and getting evidence together because from what i gather from the forums, this is the most difficult part. Thank you for any help.

Two weeks ago I got an email from ANMAC to say that they had received my application and then on 3rd April they sent an email to say that they had not received verification letter from NMC for which i paid £34 which they wont have by then as it would have been on way. Also (god i cant believe i missed this as i thought i read site thoroughly) for my transcript i just sent the standard transcript that the uni gave me which said total hours and anmac emailed to say they require a breakdown of theoretical and practical hours. I have now sorted this and had to pay £75 for a more detailed transcript and they are going to send this. ANMAC say they are not ready to undertake my application yet and that they have just conducted an initial review and placed me in a queue so i had to sort the above stuff out while i am in the queue. So far so good. Anyway just posting that just in case others are wondering about transcript. I have now collated all my documents for visa 189 if receive an invite after i have filled an eoi - As i am ready do you think i could go to solicitors now to certify or should i wait till get an invite? i am not sure if the date is to be within a certain amount of months/weeks. does anyone know?
  6. Thank you both. That is a great help. I just could not find this information explained in such an easy way. I can easy provide joint letters etc for extra evidence. I just thought I had to write a statement explaining our relationship. Brill. Also I did not know I could draft an EOI so I will do that and if i get stuck i will post for more help. IELTS 15/12/12 Academic 7, 7.5, 7.5, 9; 2/2/13 IELTS General 8, 8, 9, 9; ANMAC submitted 12/3/2013.
  7. Hi I have submitted my skills assessment now. I am preparing paperwork in the hope of an invite once my skills assessment is through. I am struggling though. Please help. 1 - Do I really need to submit anything other than a marriage certificate when I have been and are still married for 13 years? 2 - I have only declared 19 months work experience as a surgical nurse ending 30/9/2012 as I did not want my employer to know that I am going to leave because she is not a nice boss and it will make my life hard. (I did discuss it with ANMAC first to make sure I was not frauding). They said it was fine due to recencly of practice is 3 months out of 5 years which means I am covered and that they do come across this situation a lot where people do not want bosses to know. My question is though please is:- when I do an EOI (because I do not know what it asks me) do i need to state occupations if I am not claiming any extra points? If I do will a reference the job I have claimed for skills assessment do and then payslips for my current job and not a reference? Hope you understand this. Thank you. I would like help because I am trying to do this by myself. PS:- How long is Anmac actually taking at the moment?
  8. Hi. I just wondered what information a letter of determination from ANMAC has on it? Can anyone help? I am just wondering because i have not been with my current employer for long and just cannot bring myself to ask for a reference so i wondered if i just used my last employment which ended september 2012 but then it will look like i have not worked since. It would help if i knew what was on the letter of determination that i would have to send to the diac and then i would know whether to do that. Does it say when last employment was or does it just say successful skills employment. Also does it state your anzsco code on it? Thank you.
  9. Hi. I am just about ready to apply for ANMAC but i am struggling to fit my role into the ANZSCO code. Please help as i cannot find any information on the internet by others who have submitted an ANMAC form with the same role as me and there must be lots of people that have. I am a Community/District Staff nurse but my role does not fit into the Community health code. I am wondering whether to put it down as medical as i do look after diabetic patients and administer insulin, flush Picc lines, dress wounds, insert catheters etc or aged care? but not all my patients are elderly. Please help as this is all i have to find now so that my boss can write me a reference relating to it. Thank you,

I have just got the ielts results today to enable me to progress to submitting an anmac application for my nursing skills assessment prior to submitting an eoi for visa 189. I passed the ielts and i have read the whole of the anmac website but i just have some questions please anyone? 1 - Do you think i should be able to submit this myself or is it difficult and i may need a migration officer? 2 - Not sure what ANZSCO code to put. I work in District Nursing and have done this since September 2012 so it is all new to me and am still learning so for my boss to write a statement with competencies might be a bit strange as there are things i am not competent in. I did work as a surgical nurse for 2 years prior to this. It looks like that I need to put my current position down as an ANZSCO code. I do not have three years experience in nursing so cannot claim extra 5 points for this but would it be worthwhile getting a statement/reference off my current boss and then one off my old boss where i was fully competent even though i do not really need to do that. I cannot see the harm (i know it would be under a different ANZSCO code). 3 - Certifying copies - a legal practitioner - is this a solicitor? 4 - An initial registration certificate - would NMC be able to provide me with that as i have lost mine?   13. Oh my goodness. I have spent the last two weeks waiting for my ielts results and it has been an emotional wait pulling everything to pieces that i did in the exam feeling sure i have not got the results i wished for. I passed!!!!!, 9, listening, 8, reading, 8, writing and 9 for speaking. Now i can go onto the next stage, the ANMAC process. I have read right into this and fell i can do this by myself, has anyone else managed this?
  14. Hi. Yes they do, you are right. I sat the academic paper on 15th December 2012 and got 7.5, 7.5, 7 and 9 which was fine to send off to ANMAC. It is ANMAC who need 7s in each category. I then emailed a migration expert and looked on a couple of forums who replied that as I have got the results for ANMAC I can now sit the general paper to get the 8s in each section which I did. The general paper which I am hoping to get 8s will enable me to get 20 points for for the 189 visa which i need. The migration person said to submit academic paper results to ANMAC and then submit general paper results to the DIAC when applying as they are two separate things. Hope that explains things a bit better.
  15. Hi, I am a Community Nurse in UK. Have been a Community Nurse since September 2012. Prior to this I worked at Ramsay Health Care in Yorkshire, UK as a surgical nurse for two years. My sister lives in Ellenbrook, near Perth. We visited as a family in October for three weeks and really enjoyed it and our three children loved it. I am currently awaiting my IELTS from 2nd February. I sat my IELTS and got 7.5, 7.5, 7 and 9 (Academic). This is fine for the ANMAC but not fine for my points as I need to score 8 in each category. I went back to sit general ielts and found this so much easier and felt much more confident so here is hoping. My husband is a train driver and spoke to somebody at WATCO rail and it seems hopeful for him too. It is an awful wait for results. They are not even online yet!!!! It is awful when that is all you are waiting for.
