how to find out how many points you have ??

On what? -
I'm just the sort that goes into the office and infects everyone else. Not really, I'm just not really that ill. More luck than judgement. Also it's the life of a contractor (no work = no pay).
-
Yup, 2 days a week and only in the morning/evening. It makes a mockery of the 'save water' thing though. My rates etc come to $200 .. that's the stuff I can't change. My use was $30 .. it's hardly going to make me turn off taps is it. If the costs were the other way round though ..

Was wondering why the retic was on so long last night (first Sunday at home in a while) and it appears that the '4 minutes' cycle was actually '4 hours' .. That'll explain the 500L a day usage vs the 100L a day usage of winter.

There is load of info on this. Generally it's suggested not to bother unless it's something 'premium' or something 'classic'. 964 turbo -yes, VW golf - no.

I go to work and carry on as normal. I've had about 3 days off work ill in the last 15 years. 1 of those was with broken arm, as i had to have x-rays and it took all day, and another 2 days was with shingles.

It's traditionally a good neighborhood as it was in the catchment area of one of the better SOR high schools. Old houses, and a lot of sub-division has gone on recently.
-
Only $500? So that's a normal Friday night out in Perth then ..
-
Ahh, I only skim read that and missed it. And my point in that case still stands. It's not a brag, some were horrendous.
-
From dodgy hotels in Barcelona, to major ones in Vegas. I think the only places that didn't care were the Psycho-esque motels or the big chains like Hilton/Marriot. Not a brag really. Some of the places were horrendous. But to get back on topic, a passport for me is just a means of getting in/out of a country. I let my Australian expire for 10 years. I only renewed it once I started travelling more, and wanted insurance. I know people who do a lot of travelling in the middle east need two as well, for some countries don't like visits to other countries.
-
Had it in Spain, France, Germany, Sweden, USA, Canada .. quite a few places really.
-
You know when you check in at a hotel, and they take your passport .. a few times I've been close to not getting it back.
-
I've got both. For the simple reason, if I'm travelling and get one lost/stolen/confiscated I've got another to use.

Reutter was the company that made the original bodies for the cars in the 30's I think. They eventually became a part of Porsche, and then turned into Recaro.
-
Plimthing - Went and had a look this week. The badge is a 'custom coachwork by Reutter' badge. All the other badging is Porsche. So it could be a genuine car (I wouldn't know what to look for to be honest).

Do you have a successful Oz business and looking for investment/partner?
Bibbs replied to rpakey's topic in For Sale / Wanted
I've a business I'm willing to sell for the right investment. I can then leave and start up a new business. Only issue you may have, is that "I" am the product being sold. (good luck).- 12 replies

You can leave a major concert on a Saturday night, walk back to your car, and be home 15 mins later.

Got married on Cottesloe beach .. shame it didn't last long.

Pub with the work mates, few beers, then back to work. Horse racing isn't my thing.

Posted on the same thread last year, but this year I may be divorced if I can get the forms in on time. :- http://www.perthpoms.com/forum/news-gossip/4787-christmas-4.html#post75340 The wife and I do our gifts between us on Xmas Eve. On Xmas day, we head to whoever is "hosting" early with food and drinks (year before was - 10 steaks, and 50+ cans of JimBeam). Usually about 20/30 people arrive, close friends and family. The women stay indoors in the AC and gossip over champagne, the blokes get drunk, talk rubbish, and lounge in the pool & hot tub. Gifts are handed out at lunch, in a big circle. BBQ fired up for mid afternoon. Disco and music in the evening. Get a lift home and collect the car the next day. Then it's recover to do the same thing (without gifts) a week later.

You can drive from one end of the city to the other in 10mins, on a week day. In the "bad traffic jams" the cars never actually stop, you just drive slower. The trains and buses are cheap, clean, air conditioned, reliable and on-time. The women in the CBD are stunning, Friday afternoon beers start at lunchtime. If you are willing to work hard, and your pay cheque shows it. When a car with an engine under 5 litres is "poverty spec". A house within 10mins of the CBD isn't unaffordable. You never have to use the "daylight savings" button on your alarm clock, or adjust the time on the cooker/microwave/tv recorder/clocks/watches. The paperwork you downloaded from the government website isn't valid as "we have different forms in WA".

Did the alarm/cameras myself. The advantage of having Security contacts. Make your house unappealing to burglars, they'll go elsewhere.

And just to add, the stats for 'burglaries' also include building site thefts. So if you have a lot of new houses going into an area, the numbers jump as people will rob the building materials & tools left on site.

I was burgled once in the UK, and have never been in Australia (touch wood). So I make that an infinite higher risk in the UK. My house here, nothing is on display (looking through windows you can't see anything like TVs etc). I've security cameras, a visible house alarm, tools etc. are hidden and locked away. Cars are put in the garage, doors have extra dead bolts and windows are closed and locked. I've also been looking into CrimSafe window covers. You don't have to go OTT, but as long as you are sensible and have deterrents (cameras, alarms, dogs) you should be fine. Least there are no pikies thieving out of garden sheds here, who the police refuse to deal with.

Nothing. Most people will be at house parties. Have a BBQ, watch the Sydney fireworks, get smashed. Perth city will be quiet.
