  1. Hi cornishpoms, great news again on the visa.. We hope to lodge ours this week and be out there in November. Has your fella got work lined up? Would be interested to know as I am an electrician and am looking now for possible work before we go.. Good luck

  4. It does feel real now, close family have been told that we are looking at end of November, hard... As hard as it sounds you have just got to be patient, it will happen for you guys soon I'm sure. Keep the updates coming
  5. Invite to lodge visa received this morning... This has taken 6 working days to come thru. Starting to feel real now, we are planning on moving out end of November, anyone else in the same boat?
  6. This is what we have budgeted for visa £2000 agent£2200 ielts £135 skills assessment £1700 removals £4500 dog £3500 WA state sponsorship £140 medical £800 (not sure on this cost but bet its not far off) plus flights £2800 then set up costs I reckon £30 k all in.
  7. Hi Kev we stayed in quinns rock back in jan this year you will defo need the car as everything is spread out. We rented an 8 seater from emirates site as this is who we booked flights with. I would defo look at renting for your son when you are there once you have sust it out a bit. Nearest train station is clarkson for quinns rock which is bout 10 min drive away.
  8. Hi ccolinmacl if you do land a job building switchboards or similar is it possible to complete the Gap training ? surely you won't be covering the scope of work required?
  9. Our SS was granted on 17 may we are waiting for the invite? Our agent had informed us it can take 2 weeks. So you just need to hang on a little longer. This will be nothing compared to the wait for the actual visa itself... Keep us posted on your progress and I will likewise.

  11. I did skills assessment 19 April just had SS approved last week just waiting on invite to lodge visa now. It does snowball once you upload your positive skills assessment. You then join the others on the waiting game. Good luck..
  12. We went out in jan this year did meet up with some electrical contractors but they all said to get in touch when we get out there. The end of the day it will be who you know?
  13. It is a relief, just want to get visa lodged now. We are using immigration 2 oz as our agent, we lodge WA STate sponsorship on 30 April, agent said would take approx 2 weeks they were proved right.
  14. We too got our SS approved today... Just waiting for invite so we can lodge visa.. On to the next stage of the waiting game

  17. I know what you mean we are waiting for state sponsorship, that's hard enough.... At least you are further down the line. Hang on in there, it will be worth it, that's what i keep telling myself after I have checked my emails yet again! Good luck..
  18. hi This is my husbands account. i am a registered paediatric nurse with acute experience but currently work as a health visitor. We are currently awaiting state sponsorship as we plan to move to Perth. I either plan to work as a maternal child health nurse or go back in the acute sector. Do you know of any agencies in Perth which recruit paediatric nurses? Also I'm about to apply to aphra hw long s it taking to get registered? Cath

  21. Hang in there.. Can't believe 2 months wait. I did mine with future skills international got results 1 week after test. If you need help let me know as I completed mine 3 weeks ago so it is still fresh in the old memory. Good luck
  22. We sent our ss application on 30 April, how does the process work? As I see some of you have received it back with a day or two and some it has taken 3 weeks. Is it just luck... thanks in advance
  23. We are in the same situation, I am a spark and my wife is a nurse. We have just come back from wa on reccy and there are opportunities out there for sparks if you are willing to knuckle down and seek them out. I spoke with energy safe whilst out in wa and they said that you could complete the license in 2-3 months depending on the scope of works you were working on. But everyone I spoke too out there said you need to be out in wa before they take you seriously. Hope this helps
