Help with emigration process as a Nurse.
NicNox85 replied to NicNox85's topic in Jobs, Careers, Vacancies
Thank You both for your knowledge and replies to my post. I am severely disheartened by this new criteria as I did not know a Diploma was not technically good enough to work as a Nurse. I am unable to top up to a degree due to personal reasons; so do not know what to do now. I don't think I can get to Perth any other way, so it might have to stay a dream of mine. Kind Regards Nicola- 8 replies

Hello. Everybody My name is Nicola Chamberlain and would like some help or advice about emigrating as a Nurse. i qualified as a Nurse in September 2012 with a Diploma in Nursing Studies in Higher Education and now have nearly two years worth of experience. I have also recently started my first managerial post; being in charge of a nursing home. I was wondering if there are similar positions available in Perth. Also, I have booked the ILETS Exam as I understand this is a requirement. I was wondering what would my next step whether to get nursing registration in WA or apply for my visa first. Any help or assistance would be much appreciated. Its all exciting now I have made to the decision to go. Nic

Over the last few weeks I have been researching Nursing in Perth and things needed. Can somebody confirm if we need to sit the IELTs Exam, I have been getting conflicting answers. I thought everybody if not most people had to sit ths exam, but after reading other Threads on here and other websites some people say if you have up to secondary level English education you do not need the to sit the Exam. Any information or claryfication would be much appreciated as I would like to start the process and get assessed by ANMAC as soon as possible. Thanks Everbody

I just wanted to thank everybody who had been very advisable so far in replying to my posts, I am learning alot the process of applying to emigrate to Perth and all the little things you have to get done. I have a question regarding what to do first, I know that it is beneficial to get registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Western Australia, as possible but do I do that before I do anything or do I apply for the Visa first. Regarding Expression of Interest is anybody able to explain this to me and what has to be done, as it is seems quite confusing on the website. Kind Regards Nic

Hello Everybody. I am hoping to emigrate to Perth in early-mid 2015. I am a qualified Registered Nurse with 12 months experience.I am about to begin the process of applying for Registration in Western Australia. I was just wondering if anybody could give me any advice regarding hospitals in and around Perth. I do not drive so would have to either rent an apartment close by or live in nursing accomodation. Is nursing accomodation something that hospitals in Perth offer for its staffs. Also as I do not drive, what is public transport like, is Perth easily accessible? Kind Regards Nic

Hello Everybody...... My name is Nicola and I am from Guildford in Surrey, I am a Registered Nurse since September 2012. I am 28 years and am hoping to emigrate to Perth in early 2015. I have chosen Perth as I hope it has an outdoor lifestyle that I love (I love being on the water) I would like to have the opportunity to learn new sports and make new friends along the way, as well as have better career oppoetunities. Those are my reasons, I was just wondering why other people chose Perth instead of other places in Australia If you want to say Hi amd chat that would be great. Nic

Hello PerthPoms Ladies & Gents I am looking to emigrate to Perth in early 2015, giving me about 18 months. I qualified to be a Registered Nurse in September 2012, thus I have been working on a gynae ward for nearly one year. I am 28 years years old and have no dependents. However, I unfortunately have a criminal record from 2003 when I was 18 years old. I was just wondering if anybody could give me some advice, I am hoping to aooly for the Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 175). Any information or advice would be great. Kund Regards Nic

Advice on how to start the migration process!
NicNox85 replied to NicNox85's topic in Visas and Migration
Hey, Thank you for your reply. I live in Guildford. Are they a good company to use? If you dont mind me asking: when did you send your application and when do you intend to move Down Under? I hope you dont mind me asking you questions. I am trying to find out as much as possible. Kind Regards Nicola -
Hello my name is Nicola and I live in Surrey in England. I would like some advice regarding emigrating to Perth. I am 25 years old and currently in my 2nd year of a 3 year Nursing Qualification course and have been working as a Health Care Assisstant at my local hospital for the last 12 months. I have always hoped to live abroad while growing up and feel that qualifying as a Nurse will definitely help me achieve that. However, when I was 18; I was convicted of Theft and therefore have a criminal record. As it was 8 years ago and would be over 10 years ago when I qualify as a Nurse, does anyone think it will be a problem when I want to apply for emigration to Perth (my preferred choice). Also, when is the best time to start the ball rolling for my application? I hope to qualify in July 2012, would it be beneficial to start asap? I look forward to any advice given. Thanks Nicola ps: Does anybody recommend any good Migrant Agents?
