  3. yes i am in the same situ, but my house has been on the market for 8 years now and not a dickie bird, i have rented it out before and omg what a bad move that was! lets just say i had to gut the whole house (and its a big house) a firend may rent if from me but only to cover the mtgage payments so i will lose out every mth, but better to have that than have to spend thousands on it again ... i didnt know anythng re tax inplications if you make a sale? i thought ur equity was ur equity to put straight down on another house on oz?? if you get stung for tax on this then its better to sell now and take the equity with you?? hmmm i will have to look into this, ill post any findings.. re the little ones my son has just turned 8 and ideally wanted to start him in his new school (wherever that may be) mid term oz time .. didnt want him to be the ''new boy'' as well as start a new year! so was hopeing we could go int he summer hols...but all depends on finding work...no job no move basically otherwise the move with rent living expenses etc would just eat into our savings..arghhhh could really do with someone to direct here!! but back to basics i suppose...job is the key then everything should fall into place around that good luck everyone...lets face it..at least we will have the sun on our faces and be skint rather than wet miserable weather and skint hahahah
  4. there have been some big fall outs over these two years i can tell ya! we did it all ourselves and cut out the agent..never again ! i hope to go this summer but realistically it may be xmas, we have no jobs etc so partner heading out first so i can still owrk and fund him, then once a job is in place (hopefully) i can go with my son and get him straight into a school, thats the plan anyway..
  5. ha yes had it in a box for mths, its now in the fridge )))))))))))))))))))))
  6. thanks @JasonM, did you get yours also? when do you plan to make the move??
  7. only taken 2 years but hey im sure it will be worth it
  8. thanks, this has put my mind at rest a little, we are from a small mining village and my son is the only child in his school who is mixed race, i think i am over thinking and getting last minute jitters...thanks again guys
  9. we are on a 189 (Still waiting for CO) my 7yr old is mixed race and is currently having a little trouble at school re his skin colour (kids saying his skin is brown and laughing) nothing we both cant handle atm but wanted to ask re this very very sensitive issue, i have no idea how to put this question out there in fear of offending someone, but i have to try and ask, so here goes .. has anyone experienced this kind of issue out in oz?
  10. hi all, has anyone who has already submitted there visa application had an email off skillselect saying that there visa application invite expires soon ? (even after you have paid the fee and still uploading your bits and bobs)??
  11. hes only seen them twice in the past couple of years even though a court order is in place, she punishes them if they even speak on the phone to him..very sad situ but our soli has posted her a statutory declaration for her to sign that she disagrees with the medicals for them, but she wont sign, i just hope its enough proof for the CO to get the medicals waivered. otherwise we are stuffed...although i think we can get a friend of the family to sign a declaration saying they are aware of how difficult she is and always has been since the mutant was born
  12. hey @JasonM not a dicky bird here, we check everyday but nothing dont forget it was the xmas hols so we can write 2weeks off.. as soon as i here anything i will let you know, we submitted ours 23rd dec so you should hear before us we have our police checks all set and ready to be posted , but wer waiting for the CO and leaving it as late as poss as the police checks and meds only last 12mths...but we have come to a grinding holt anyway re my partners non migrating kids, they have to have meds too but the x wife will not answer our emails/txts/calls/letters so now got a solicitor on the case...just seems one thing after another atm. but hang in there...sure it wont be long now
  13. i have noticed on some peoples signature that it ranges from 6 days to approx a month so hopefully not too long now
  14. well by the time they are grown and may consider the move which i very much doubt ther medical would of run out , but i think it may make the process to get them a visa easier, i understand if the mother dies then they go to the father but they dont see him and i very much doubt my partner would drag them to another country from all there other family and friends but its all ''what ifs'' i dont think the mother would sign a declaration that she wont let them do a medical...may have to take her to court this is looking like ..i know this takes at least 3 mths to get a hearing date and then she wont turn up as she hasnt in the past re access blabla...nightmare from hell.... we have been doing this for 2 years and now its almost done we get this! i just cant believe it..so gutted
  15. hi all, my partner has had to put on our visa application that he has 2 dependant children, although his kids wont see him and want nothing to do with him (obviously evil influences going on here but thats another story) anyhow, we have been told today that wehn we get a CO assigned in the (hopefully) nxt coming weeks that they may request there medicals and want to see there birth certs ... we dont want them on the visa and we have no way of getting there medicals done as they refuse to see there dad could prob get copies of birth certs? but we explained that the meds would of ran out by the time they are grown and may want to come over but aparently its proceedure..has anyone got around this? as this seems too ridiculous to stop us all from going
  16. hi there, my partner found one last night called doree boner which i think he said was a little cheaper? if i find out any more i will let you know we only need the 146sq metre one as only taking my 7yr olds ''precious'' toys/bike/bunk bed etc, we havent bought anything for some years now knowing we was hopefully be moving so everything needs renewing anyway.. its getting stressful now all the planning but on the plus i may shed a few unwanted pounds with it all woohoo
  17. hi all, what move cube company are u all using? there are quite a few, seven seas?? thanks
  18. i have had a reply on my pomsinoz post and been advised the following :- So long as you and your son still arrive by the activation deadline that's ok... your husband as the main applicant can enter first and alone.. but he will only be activating his visa. He cannot activate yours. If you fail to travel by the activation date you will pretty much forfeit your visas as far as I am aware.
  19. yes owen2k i am wondering about this, as my previous post above... i also have a house thats been on the market for some years so i fear renting is my only option..i do have a friend though who maybe willing to rent my advise would be sell sell sell, as i have rented my house before '' to vetted people, references etc''and it is a nightmare...re not paying the rent and also not looking after the property properly, i rented mine out to a single dad (thought i would be ok but omg he used it as a party pad, there was all kinds living in it) then a family with 3 young kids...again thought this would be ok, omg how wrong could i have been, ie property riddled in mice due to dirty nappies being thrown in the garden !! yuk... so pls take my advice and get rid if u find out any info re the visa activation then pls share x
  20. thats good to know we will leave our meds till the very last min then ...may i ask, my son and i are going on my partners 189 visa (as hes younger than me) but our plan is for him to go first to job search/rental search/school search rather than drag my 7 yr old around, can he activate the visa and then we follow a few mths later?
