  16. My son commutes to Welshpool each day , takes around 1 hour, we took the train journey to beautiful Mandurah it took 1 hour 25 mins. We went around different places yesterday and ended up trying to get on the freeway at 4.30 at Leederville, it took half an hour ! so much traffic, however my son remarked he just joins the motorway from Welshpool no problem, taking him the hour to get home. Don't know if that helps but the houses are a bit cheaper south too. However what you have could get you in a lovely area north.
  17. Been living here for 3 months, never seen a football shirt other than on kiddies on the footy pitch. Love living up north ,there are a few areas I would not want to live though, up north. And no I would not print where they are as other pp people like their area. Houses are different somehow, and ok the plots are getting smaller the higher you go but the price also reflects that. Been around places today by the city, you could not pay me to live there and they are supposed to be sought after, liked really down south but way to far out for me , more a holiday feel , plus would not like all those tourists every day and spoiling my weekend.I somehow have enjoyed travelling around these last few days to areas I have never seen before as it felt great to get back home ,up north. Why not look up in the hills there is east and west too. As said many times before , you cannot ask someone you have to feel it yourself.Personally I love the friendly feel to up north and there isn't just Brits up here as everyone has you to believe.
  18. Gone very quickly Steeley, how are you doing ?
  19. Trying to think of an update for you all 3 months in, seeing as I have done most normal tourist things here it's what we have been up to as we now live here. These are my personal thoughts been to leapfrogs for a meal and the crazy golf , really enjoyed the afternoon went to Yanchep national park, had lunch in the old hotel , saw the kolas and kangaroos. Not riveting been to Cottesloe, Scarborough, floreat had a drink in the famous tea house ,on the way back visited the English chippy in currambine, ok but nothing special. went to Belmont races , had winner and we all had a fun time took the train to Manduah saw the Dolphins ,would like to go for a short break there. visted Atlantis fairly new children's playground for a party, very unsocial for a party. Went to inflatable world for a party , loads better, went to the new pub in Carramar for a christening ,would not recommend. taken numerous walks along the beach fronts, all enjoyed. met up with Annjean for coffee and a natter, met up with Rob and Racheal at the Butler Dome, met up with Deb and a few other PP at the Moon and Sixpence, did a Mullalo walk with the girls , really enjoyed everyone. Done all the things to make you an Aussie all easy to do, I had to have a medical for my drivers licence , as I take some funny tablets, but no problems. got help from pp to get the car on the road, would not recommend bringing the car over. Given my tenants notice to move out, feel awful as she is pregnant, however there seems to be loads of rentals about. Will be better when we are in our own house. Hubby still misses the UK , he says nice for a holiday but not to live here , so working hard on that but I would say never underestimate the pull of your old life , even when you pinch yourself you live in a fabulous house looking out on the ocean.
  20. We were told not to use vacuum packs as no air makes things go mouldy .
  21. Paint the rust with Hammerite, we had no problems
