  1. I must admit when in Perth I can cope with the heat as everywhere is air con etc but this heat in the uk at the moment is very difficult to cope with. There is no breeze and no air con

  3. I am not pasty I am loving this hot weather , came over perth for winter back in the uk for summer , HOWEVER coming back to perth next week for a couple of weeks as its the grandchildrens birthdays. With all the toys I am bringing over no room for coats !
  4. I visit my son on a holiday visa, I always fly with Emirates and they do the visa when asked it lasts for twelve months but I can only stay for 3 months max. I visited straight away however I got very upset so maybe wait a little while until you are more settled.I now visit every year and when you fly you gain points so every 2 years I get myself an upgrade on the way home as I am always sad and need a treat .by the way the holiday visa is free.
  5. hi, if it helps, I too never spoke to my son about his move to Oz. I was so upset and could not think straight about it. he had no children at the time it is now 8 yrs later. I thought i would never see him and his wife again. My first visit was awful I could not understand why he would leave a beautiful house good job etc to go over to Perth, I knew really it was because his wifes family is over there . however I now go up to 3mths a year with my hubby sometimes on my own for a couple of wks.and love it , it is hard to save the money to go and no other holidays have been had in 8yrs but life is too short. we are now applying for a parent visa and my younger son is upset. nothing is easy but mum will come around and teach her skype and facetime on apple .

  13. hi, I am new to the forum but when we get there we hope to settle in Jindalee, we do not have children of school age however we have grandchildren there . I am told Mindarie primary is very well respected , however most pay for the better schools which from what I understand is not the same as private schools in the uk prices.

    Presents

cards and pressies are important and australia is not far away in this day and age. To see my grandsons face light up via facetime or skype is priceless when we or his cousins send pressies and cards and the same this way too. Never forget your family just because you moved over to the better life , you will only regret it in years to come and using the internet or helping your family to buy that present however it came is important to your childs well being.
  17. hi, this is my first post. I have 1 month ago sent in for a parent visa , does anyone know how long before they let you know they have received it and send a number ?
