Edzi
Hi all. My anmac skills assessment has just been completed and they say it is in post today and will take a few weeks. My next stage is EOI. I am a community staff nurse. I left my last job as a surgical nurse in september last year after 19 months and did not tell anmac i am now a community staff nurse as from september last year because i did not want my boss to know for a reference etc. Anyway my anmac skills will be for a surgical nurse but the anzco code for a community nurse when applying for visa 189 will be different. My questions are:- 1 - Will it be ok with a different anzsco code too what skills say because it is the same unit group code 2544 etc? 2 - I wanted to have all this back by 1st July for lesser fees but next round eoi wont be until that day, do they send emails out a day early by any chance (here's hoping). 3 - I am not using an agent - so just wondered this EOI is it straightforward, is there anything I need to watch out for because I read on forums that there are some misleading questions? 4 - Can I start my eoi now and then save it for when my assessment letter comes I can just submit it. If anyone could help, I would be most grateful.
TDK43
I would have thought your skills assessment would need to match up with the occupation code? Maybe Im wrong? But surely you would need to apply for the same occupation that you had your skills assessed for. Im an ED nurse, had my skills assessed as an ED nurse. Maybe I'm missing something? Edzi
I know what you mean and I do not think you are missing anything. My skills has been assessed as a surgical nurse because that was my previous anzsco which ended September 2012. ANMAC said it would be ok not to declare my current job as 19 months is enough to pass an assessment. Now it has come to it I am wondering whether to do eoi for my previous job and not declare i have worked since last september but would i get an invite? or should i put all my work history on including my current one with a different anzsco code. I have looked at the eoi and it says to put anzsco codes on for each employment so at least my last employment would relate to the anzsco code. Sorry it is so confusing but my boss is a bully and i just cannot ask her yet. I dont need points for work experience.

Also my understanding was that the higher fees will apply from 1 July. You might receive the invite on 30 June UK time but as far as Australia is concerned it will be 1 July so when you lodge DIAC will unfortunately bill you with the new fee rate.
