TheHoffs
Well this is our last sleep in sunny Blighty, the family and i fly from Glasgow tomorrow its been a while in planning and visa application but the day has arrived. Even though we thought we were totally organised it turns out i still spent last two days going to the local council tip and getting rid of about 30 black bags. But cases now packed and all at 30kg limit and ready for the next part of the adventure

Loulou
That is who we are going with, oh no that doesn't sound promising what happened? We have packed 30kg a case as it says after march 31st that's the allowance well i hope so anyway It was 4 of us and I rang them to ask could we split the 30kg over 6 suitcases... so 20kg in each they said yes. At the airport different story as its a code share should only be 1 suitcase each and 23 kg ... very nice lady called Stacey let us check them all in and no charge as she asked if we were emigrating and we told her yes so she went with the Emirates allowance. I dont think they will allow 30kg in one suitcase because of H & S issues but check before you go. I was all ready to turn on the waterworks!!! TheHoffs
Just went onto my booking and its 30kg wow was a bit scared there. it says over 32kg for one bag wont be accepted lets hope my scales are correct or else its gonna be a hand luggage shuffle at the desk. which would then make me the most awkward passenger at check in, you know there is always one in the line. And if there isn't then it must be yourself

StraighttothePoint
Don't worry about the case. As long as it is on the 30kg mark you will be fine. I do it regularly in both directions and all they do is stick a heavy bag tag on bags over 25kg. Dubai airprot handlers will not handle anything over 32kgs. Good luck on the flight and journey but you will be fine. I am in Scotland until early October but will perhaps catch up with you when I get back. Fixture list just announced so fingers crossed we are not liquidated. Games away to St Johnstone, Partick, ICT and Ross County as well as a few home games and a derby all beckon for me so here's hoping. TheHoffs
Well got stung for £105 at airport and had to dump some hand luggage. Mrs Hoffmann nearly never got on plane even though we asked and they said 36 weeks for single pregnancy they said 32 weeks and 6 days she is 32 and 1. Wow never sweated so much lol. Greeted at perth by amazingly smooth customs even went through the Aussie passport control as Emma is Australian passport holder and they were great. Nothing like that tv show "nothing to declare" that I have been watching lol. mummytummy hope you have safe flight too. Maybe see you over here

Mind you 74kg in total, 2 x 30kg cases and 2 x 7kg in flight bags, is a flaming big allowance. Did Mrs Hoff take too many dresses over or did you sneak out a few cases of Scottish beer

How you getting on back home? All good here, great weather at the moment and getting plenty of golf in but handicap just gone up to 11.5 which is a bummer as I used to be single figures - age obviously kicking in!! I am loving it here at three quid a pint for good real ales and Belhaven Bests. You had better get used to the prices out there quickly as it the beer is only one thing that will hurt until you start earning dollars Just back from a trip to Musselburgh and the Forth is looking braw. Am going in next week to buy my tickets for the three home games. Happy to give them the ninety quid as it all will go into the pot that hopefully saves them. I would have bought a season ticket but at around 350 / 400 quid it is just that bit too steep. McHattie, MacDonald, Stevenson and Hamill all agreed to 50% wage reductions. Real Jambos. Rudi is donating stuff for an auction and various retired players coming to the party as well. We will be ok. HHGH Oh and first thing to do is buy a copy of The Entertainment Book and you will save a fortune out there. http://www.entertainmentbook.com.au/ We swear by them and you will notice a difference if you use it.
