portlaunay
For us ... very clichéd (but true) ... the quality of time we've spent together as a family. Despite working the same hours, we have found that we've spent more time together, not necessarily going out (although we do that too), but just having dinner outside at a weekend, we'll sit for hours chatting with the kids, playing silly games .. in winter we light the fire pit and have a dinner we can just eat around the fire - the simple things have been our gain. It's true for us too. When our children arrived they became the reason for our existence and we revolve our lives around them really. In London mine and my sons favourite thing was getting up early on Sunday morning, catching the train to Shoreditch with our bikes, a bagel for brekkie then cycling the north and south banks of the river. The lack of cycle routes, traffic, dirt and people made it less than pleasurable sometimes but it's a tradition we've bought with us. The ride from the city back to Freo along the river is just stunning and we're guaranteed well maintained, clean cycle paths, little traffic and people who wish us nothing but good mornings.
