Weedolly
I don't know about Hospitals in your area as I am still in Melbourne but I came over 29 weeks pregnant, had the baby in Melbourne and it didn't cost me anything in the public system so I am sure WA is the same. Didn't need scans though as I was past that bit. I had to go to a GP, get a referral to the public hospital and I had a few midwife checkups etc before. bluecob99
Hello You have a public hospital in Osborne Park and in Joondalup. As for a doctor, it all depends on how you wish to give birth as to whom I would recommend. The Community Midwives of WA have a great, free programme and offer midwifery care. There are lots of other hospitals and a birthing centre attached to Kind Eddie's in Subiaco. I support couples as a birth doula and live locally, so I'm more than happy to help you out with any free information or advice you need. If you message me your details I'll send you my website and you can take a look and see if that helps you in any way. Best of luck with everything... Guest jackieuk
Definitely don't go private, use the public system, see your doctor who will advise you of your nearest options. I am a registered midwife and I have worked in the private sector which has higher rates of c.sections and epidural rate so I would definitely recommend public rather that private.
