Recommended Posts

Hi All

We are heading bk to Perth in around 3 weeks.

We have been looking at suburbs for a while and today we came across Halls Head. My hubby would need to get the train into CBD for work, so is the commute ok? are schools good? crime? beach nice? Is it nice area as i will be a stay at home mum with two little ones.

Thank you in advance for any information/opinions.

we lived in Halls Head for three years. Halls Head has two parts, Old Halls Head and New Halls Head (also known as Seascapes). We used to live in the Seascapes area, where there is a very good primary school (South Halls Head) and the beach is no more than a 10 minute walk away. We moved from there 16 months ago but at the time, crime was pretty low. There are plenty of small parks for kids to play in as well, and a new IGA supermarket is due to open (It may already have by now) and there is a cafe there as well.

As for the commute, you would have to either drive or catch a bus to Mandurah station and take the train to the CBD. Train from Mandurah takes 50 minutes with the bus ride taking up to 25 minutes depending on what bus route you need to take.

Hi

We live in Halls Head, we arrived 4 months ago. We're living in Old Halls Head and our children go to Halls head Primary. They have settled in well and love going to school. We're we live is nice & quiet. Lots of parks and not far from the beach. Shopping centre near by. I don't work at the moment (hope soon) so can't say about commuting to CBD, Hubby drives over an hour for work, but that is his choice. There are good and bad parts in every area and depends what type of house you want, new build no garden, or older house great garden. I like living here and hope to buy eventually. You can only try it, but if your children settle in a school, would you want to move them if you don't like an area.

Good luck with what you decide.

Christine, I'm sure you will find Halls Head a beautiful part of the world to live. I have lived here for nearly 30 years and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. If you need help finding a property to buy or to rent, feel free to contact me at LJ Hooker Mandurah and I would be happy to assist you. We have a lovely family property for sale in a great part of Halls Head only a short stroll to beach at 8 Spyglass Rise, home open tomorrow between 2:00 - 2:45pm. Halls Head has a great community of people with some lovely government and private schools nearby. Transport is not a problem with access to the train station, then straight to Perth within the hour. All the best.

Hi,

Me and hubby been in Halls head for 8 weeks now, we love it, live on halls head estate, it is quite, and no trouble, everybody says hello to each other, my husband bikes to work at the hospital and I drive to train station and train it in to Perth, its quite relaxing, no traffic to contend with, just read your books/magazines whatever and arrive at work.

We love t round here, the estuary has a lovely feel with nice bars and restaurants, everything is an hour away which is ideal and we just love to walk and bike ride in the area, so much better for keeping active etc.

If anybody is up for meeting up etc, let me know!! Aleays up for making new friends!! :) xx

Hi Christine,

We live in Seascapes part of Halls Head, our children go to South Halls Head Primary (just finished first term) and love it so far, we arrived end of April.

We rent our property through Acton Real Estate and they have been great so far!!! Meadow Springs is nice too we looked at that also when we arrived (good private school in Meadow Springs) but decided Seascapes was for us!! Lovely beaches in walking distance, lots of families here with young children playing out in Street, lovely parks, shops, Kirby Swim is good for private swimming lessons and only across Road from Seascapes. Mandurah foreshore is nice.

Good Luck and if you need any help just message me

High schools need to go private I have been told Mandurah Catholic College or Freddie Irwin have good reputation

we came her for a reccie, and now I have been offered a job, and are in a mad hunt for a cheap and cheerful rental - not easy also I need to go back to pack up the house, if anyone know of a furnished rental (cheap) for a few mths..yes please :o)

we love halls head, beautiful down on the estuary. We also love Dawesville so not a hundred per cent sure where we will end up.

the wildlife here is amazing, pelicans in the park, dolphins whilst you picnic...
