Sharon's dream
Hello I'm new on here, we live in Adelaide and have done for the last 2 years, but Adelaide was our 2nd choice. Perth was always where we wanted to be, we visited Perth in Feb and fell in love with the place. My hubby is a plumber in SA and any advice that anyone could give us on plumbing, suburbs , if anyone eles as made the same move would be welcome. It's as scary as our original move to Australia but its a move we all want to make as a family. THank you

THank you[/quote'] Hi Sharon We did exactly the same thing, we lived in Adelaide for almost 3 years and moved to Perth Sept 2011. So we have been in Perth for almost 2 years. Plumbing work just seem to dry up in Adelaide. Hubby wanted to venture into the mines. He got a job quite easily, went through 3 employers and then took a risk to get some plumbing experience up North. It paid off and now he FIFO up in Newman way. We have 2 kids 9-12 and I work full time. Perth is more expensive rental wise but we love it. We do miss the green-ness of Adelaide and we left some fantastic friends, I worked part-time in Adelaide so managed to make friends a lot easier but the people we have met have been lovely. It cost the same to move to Perth as it did from Blighty we used YOU PACK and packed the container ourselves, shipped 2 cars and flew the 2 dogs Our 1st rental we had a year then the owner wanted to sell so we have been in this one almost a year. We are building so we hope to have our new home early this year. Any questions just shout...the licence thing was a royal pain in the butt and quite costly but it wasn't like coming to a new country like first time. Although it was asking for WA Experience having SA was equal. Hope you have a smooth transition All the best !
