travelchic
Congratulations on your visa. I think jan would be a perfect time to go if you've got children. Plenty of time to get over the jet lag and get settled before the start of school. Debs

Candygirl
Congrats Kimmy. I think 5 months is more than adequate. We are oft at beg of Oct and we started to book everything mid June. The shippers are used to dealing with people who give them no more than 2-3 weeks notice so they will certainly love you giving them a lot more than that. With regards to your dog, I would really speak to a few shippers before you decide on who to use and see what their prices include. We are using PetAir's Gold Service where everything is done for us, even collecting the dogs on the day and taking them to the airport and checking them in for us. I have also had virtually any paperwork to complete, just signing most things as they have been completed by PetAir on my behalf, which has made things a lot easier when there is so much do. Jan is a good time for the kids being on school hols, but perhaps factor in that most places would be quiet over the holidays so jobs would take longer to obtain. Swings and roundabouts though I suppose.
Nikkis2000
Hi! We had out visa granted just over a week ago and we're going in Jan too! We're slightly ahead of the game having already sold the house and moving I to temp accom in the mean time. 5 mths should be plenty as OP said just get in there with the shipping co. We're taking 2 cats so are on the same timeline. As with OP we're also using Petair but the silver package where you get the vet work done yourself. ***Only point to note -and it is important, is that Perth quarantine is shutting in November due to fire season. If its anything like last year they probably won't re-open til June. Therefore you will need to arrange alternative quarantine at Sydney. You also have to arrange the internal transfer back to Perth, though your agent should help. Hope that helps! Nikki x

travelchic
Omg I love Zumba. Family classes would be good. I've tried to look for family exercise but couldn't find much. Don't want to rely too much on my friends to mind jonny all the time. Prefer to ask just when it's really needed. Would love to do some sort of exercise with him. travelchic
Kimmy I'll be living with friends to begin with but will move to wherever I get a job. Don't want to be travelling hours every day to and from work if I can help it. Want to finish work, pick my son up and get home in the shortest time possible.
