Hi Kimmy, thats all good to hear, only downside is we land at 0055 so we have to go into a hotel at the airport which is not the cheapest, however its one of these things cant wait to get there 2 weeks tomorrow :-)

verystormy
The area is pretty much central mandurah. Very nice area with everything on your doorstep. Generally expensive. Where in mandurah are you think of long term? Yes, you must infom immigration of the new passport. The immigration system is all geared around the passport number. SJT
Hi, We also renewed our passports after the visa was granted and all we had to do was fill in a form that was on the Australian Embassy's website and then took it there with our new passports and all the documents they request in the form, they are in London. It is very simple but if you are leaving soon, I would get it done ASAP to make sure it is on the system for when you fly. Have a good flight and enjoy your last few weeks in England. Hi there, that would be great, we dont know yet where we want to settle long term, im sure we will do alot of searching and viewing places when we arrive, we will need to hire a car so if you happen to come across any car rentals that would be much appreciated, we are also on a 489 , 2 weeks today roll on :-)

Hi kimmy, yea we need to be at the rental between office hours, also we were advised to just get a hotel at the airport, to get some sleep and head down to mandurah the following day, so we may hire a car at the airport but im going to imagine they will be expensive? kimmy
Think we booked it from the airport before we flew, with hertz, we hired it for 10days,im not sure how much it was as my hubby paid for it, will ask him though and get back to you, might be cheaper to hire it for a few days until you get sorted as you will need a car to get around! good luck! verystormy
we have no idea where to settle long term, have heard many nice things about meadow springs tho :-) There are a number of nice suburbs. I would wait till you arrive and then have a good drive around and get a feel for the ones that you like the best. Meadow Springs has the advantage of schools and the best butchers in the area. Chardy
Meadow Springs and Lakelands both nice, newer and cheaper than other nice areas but still only a couple of mins from the beach. MS primary school a bit overloaded but they are building the Lakelands one to open for the 2014 year for the younger ones. However state high schools have a bad rep so if you need secondary schools you need to look private or elsewhere ! Mandurah is lovely and will miss it being so close when we move to lovely Baldivis instead.
