beandownunder
Hi, so in reality it will prob be about a year before we set off on our new adventure, just wondering if it's worth getting the rabies stuff done now and then just keep up to date with boosters after that- anyone any advice? I just thought it would help spread out some costs, or do the authorities prefer it to be done just prior to arrival??? Thanks in advance anyone..... jackboots
Is it still the pet passport your end ? I personally would talk to your vets and have a chat with a pet transporters . I know when we were getting sorted 5 years ago , you couldn't do stuff until 30 days before flights all the best !

alexw
Hi you need to have rabies done between 6-12 months before dog being released from quarantine, so if its less than 6 months it will mean a longer quarantine time. Also if you have regular boosters dont have the one beging lep*** carnt remember the spelling but it interfears with the rabies results
beandownunder
i contacted pet air today and they were very helpful and told me the vaccine has to be given within 12 months of the flight with blood tests 3 weeks after.thought I'd share in case anyone else was wondering :-)
