DavidM
Hi Coco - curious if your reccie ticked all the boxes? Anything learned that was unexpected? Any surprises? When do you plan to move down? In the midst of sorting out a reccie ourselves, just not sure when to go Oct or over Xmas. David.
Coco67
David, Where shall I start as I have come home and still trying to think of 1 thing I actually don't like and still cannot!! Maybe because its something I have always wanted to do, but even the rest of my family loved everything about it too, in someways I wished we had gone out a little earlier May/June as it would have made up our minds to start our 489 sooner, but as it stands we would love to be back there by February when the new school year starts, our agent has all paperwork from us that she needs, do you think that Feb is achievable? We were going for the 190 but after 7 attempts of the IELTS trying to get all 8's we have decided on 489. October is a nice time of year to go over as its not too hot if you are planning to do alot of travelling and flights are also alot cheaper then, but as for xmas we would like our last one at home this year!! The only thing that surprised me the most was the amount of English people there and hardly met any Aussies as such, all the job interviews my hubby went to the guys were english, the estates agents were english and the registrat at school was english too, the guys we rented house off had also emigrated to Perth 16 years ago!! We just cannot wait to get back out there and start living our lives!! Where abouts are you thinking of going to and do you have a family too?? Bal. DavidM
Hi Bal/Coco, Thanks for sharing that; sounds like a worthwhile trip I'm not sure where we shall go, I'm thinking NOR between Mt Hawthorn and Joondaloop (which is a massive focus area). I hope to get work in CBD so need to stay close to the train line. Then we need I consider schools (2 of my 3 girls are school going age) and everything else. There's just so much to consider. Hopefully about to finalize on our 190 soon and then we'll book flights or December time I think - just want to get out there and start everything. Re paper work or visa app, yes once you get the invitation and you have all doc ready to go I reckon you'll have your visa by Xmas. I didn't use an agent so I'm not sure if they add or take from processing time. Best of luck with your application. David.
Coco67
Thanks David, we have friends who live in Mount Hawthorn and we wanted to be close to them it took us 3 minutes to get to them from Wembley and they too commute to city daily well our friend actually Cycles into city everyday!! We have had a bit of a bombshell recently though as our agent went to lodge our EOI which she has already done so to find by hubb's job title has been taken off Skills List but is still on for South Australia so she has also lodged an EOI for there too, hopefully it will come back on in October if it does not then we will have to go to SA, which is such a shame as we really love Perth/Mandurah etc etc!!
