Kev Rad
Well.. The 4 of us have just got back from a 2 week validation visit and whilst looking round to see what the jobs market was like I have managed to get a really good job offer and I am going back in 5 weeks to start, the rest of the family are going to follow later in the year. Got a great Project Managers job What a result!! Struggling a bit though to find some accommodation. I was wondering if any one knows of where I can find a house share or if any one knows of anyone with a room to rent for 4 months or so. I'll be working in Welshpool but will travel, if any one has any advise etc it would be appreciated. Trying to keep the costs down for now as I'll have to keep myself in Oz and keep the house going in the UK. Cheers Kev
casson35
Loads of rooms to rent on gumtree bud, between 130 and 200 a week all in. That will be the cheapest option.
Bibbs
Welshpool is a very industrial area, with a few rough suburbs around it (and a few nice ones). I'd personally be looking to head out closer to Vic Park just for the shops/resturants/bars. RealEstate.com.au - for rentals. Gumtree.com.au - for room/house shares. StraighttothePoint
Great result, well done. What is the job out of interest?
Sapper59
Well done on getting a job so quickly, Kev - I'm impressed! I would be interested to hear more as I will be job hunting in October when we get to Perth. I'd also love to hear your view on Perth in Winter (I've seen your photos on the other thread). We validated our Visa in February when it was 40+, so have a particular view of the Perth climate. I have heard that winter can be chilly, but it's all relative (to UK!!) - how did you find the weather at this time of year? Was it thin fleece weather or arctic North Face Duvet Jacket time?!? Regards, S.

Regards, S. It was definitely thin fleece time mate. I never had to wear anything but my shorts to be fair. Rained a bit but it is winter! Job hunting is not too bad, just a case of getting the resume out and getting some face time in front of the employers. So long as you are enthusiastic and come across as eager to work seems like there are some good opportunities out there. What you looking at doing, if you don't mind me asking? Candygirl
Well Done and Congrats on the job offer. We have secured a short term apartment through www.airbnb.com.au, but they also have house shares, rooms to let on there as well. Wishing you all the best for your future in Perth. Cheers Kev Hi Kev, firstly congratulations, great news on the job front, hope you get some accommodation soon xx Also, hope you don't mind me asking but I remember quite a while ago, you were asking about Kinross College, I just wondered if you looked at it whilst you were out there and what you thought?!? We are hoping to get back in a few months once our house has sold, my hubby is a carpenter and we are typical "ping pongs" i'm afraid!! But after 4 years back in the UK, we have been desperate to get back to Perth ASAP. We have 4 girls and were looking at Kinross college for the 2 older ones, but didn't look at it when we were there before as they were still in Primary school. Also, (hope you don't mind me asking all these questions) when you were out there, did you think there was much work, I know there have been differing opinions on that on the forums, so any positive feedback would put hubby's mind at rest!!! He has nearly 3 years WA experience, so are hoping this will go in his favour?!? Thanks for any advice, and congrats again on the job, good luck with the room hunt, hope all goes well for you and your family, Jess xx
