Kev Rad
Hi All I was just wondering if you get a rental in 1 area and your kid goes to the high school there, then when you eventually buy a house and move in if it is in another catchment do you have to move your kid? Cheers Kev
Arwen
Depends on the school. They are VERY strict on catchment areas at the moment due to year 7 students starting in state high school in 2015.
StraighttothePoint
And also if you get the kid into one school and then move to another suburb, and in some cases even a close one, the daily travel to school journey could turn out to be difficult. Perth public transport system is good but works on in an in suburb loop basis. Otherwise somebody's time would be taken up with drop off's and pick up's. As Arwen says maybe school dependant so worth cahtting to a few in suburbs you currently think you like.
ali
It will depend on the school - Rossmoyne for example has strict boundaries and makes this statement regarding enrolments: Note that: 1.Continued enrolment at Rossmoyne Senior High School is not assured where a family changes residence outside the school boundary. 2.Siblings are not assured enrolment at the school where the family is residing outside the school boundary at the time of the siblings enrolment.
