Guest Jambo5
Hi All I have been reading all the questions and answers on this site for that last 3 years and find it a great source of information. This is my first question, by the end of October were hopefully moving out to WA Perth. On our state sponsorship application form we had to state how much money we would be bringing into the country, we have just had an offer on our house which is below what we stated on the application form so we will be approx. 35% down on the amount we will be taking, we will still have over £100,000 but its not what we stated. Is the amount checked when you arrive in the country? If it is checked do you have to have the full amount? We still have plenty to live off but just not what we said we would bring into the country. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks Jambo
travelchic
I'm not 100% sure but I think they just want to know that you've got enough to support yourself until you're settled. I think you'll be fine but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Debs
nikkiwd
nobody checks when you arrive as far as I know
bensdad
No one checks at all. We were the same except our house never sold so we rented it out. The only time it might come into question is if you try to claim benefits within the first 2 years.

phil
No one checked ours. But when we initially submitted the sponsorship form they emailed back saying they didn't think we'd put down enough funds. We just rang them and asked them what they thought would be a sensible figure and told them we'd have that much.
jonandsarah
No body checks we ended up taking a lower offer on house to get it sold before we left so ended up with less than what we first said
