Nursing jobs help

HI....I recently moved to Perth and have been looking to get some permanent position as a Registered Nurse in Hospitals in Perth but all I see are less jobs and those that I have applied-either I have been rejected (I recently finished my graduate program ) which is so hurting to me as I really want to establish my career here in Perth. I moved from NSW to here but the situation of nursing seems not good here. Do you also feel the same ? Can you please lend me your suggestions ? Desperate...:ssign16:

hi alishine

I know how you feel. I am trying to find work as a registered nurse and it just isn't happening. I had a break from nursing to have my 3 kids and did a return to practice course before we came over. I am ready to work and excited about starting my career again. I know I am a bit older now and have a gap in my CV and on paper I don't look very good. I just need a start to prove myself and get some Aussie experience. I apply for everything I can and have not had an interview yet. All we can do is keep applying, think positive and carry on forward. I think when the new hospitals get opened there will be lots of recruitment. I keep hearing stories from people about contracts finishing and not being renewed due to budget issues. Good luck with the hunting, there will be something with your name on it.

AHhhhhhh.....Thanks for the kind reply. I have always been an optimist but I am in for a rough ride, no two ways about that ! Hope the situation improves. I keep on hearing there are a lot of EN roles but not so much RNs here in Perth. I hope I am wrong ! Good luck and keep sharing.

Thanks

For various reasons there has been something of hold on spending and this has affected recruitment, particularly in relation to new posts.

Take heart though that Fiona Stanley needs 3700+ staff, New Children's is also a massive expansion and there are other hospital projects that there is an existing commitment to and in most cases these projects have commenced to a point where they cannot be reversed.

FSH is scheduled to open Oct 2014 and posts are being advertised. If register with the FSH website you'll receive notifications about vacancies as they become available.

Don't lose hope, nursing/health is a great place to be, or at least it will be in 6 months, just hang in there.
