How long to find a rental and move in.

How long does it take to find a rental (2/3 bed) in Fremantle area.

How quickly, on average, can you move in. Furnished or non-furnished doesnt matter.

Hi Mairi depends I suppose if property is empty and how many people are looking for same type of property. I found one and moved in next week - could have moved in next day as was empty. Thankfully looks like things have quietened down a bit in the rental market and there does not appear to be hordes of people turning up to viewings. When are you coming to Australia.

Thanks for the info, we will be arriving in early Dec 2013.

Hi Mairi, we have just listed a property in Palmyra close to Fremantle, the owner will be travelling so looking for someone to stay for 6 weeks from early/mid December, it may just suit you :) Oh and it's fully furnished.

oz rentals were fab def recommend them, they found a rental for us as we were struggling to find somewhere, the process is different for all. It took us some time to find a rental, lots turning up to view properties, agents we slow to get viewings done. Applications should take 2-3 days but one week later they called us, luckly we found somewhere.

Make sure you bring all docs with you as you will need lots.

Good luck

Check Gumtree for rentals. WE found it alot easier to go directly to private rentals, rather than using the realty agents. Alot less form filling and documentation involved, and especially as we didnt have any UK references, as we've allways had our own house. Generally rentals are alot easier to get now, so you should have no issues. Probably 1-2 weeks should be plenty.
